Germany.tv Sells for $50,000

The .TV extension has been a savvy investment for some domainers that have capitalized on the regular end-user interest in the ccTLD.

So far this year, NameBio lists the largest .TV deal at just $7,000, but this is about to change as a veteran .TV investor has disclosed their latest sale. Facilitated by GoDaddy, this domainer scored a $50,000 payday from the Germany.tv domain.

Root Insurance Completes a Big Domain Upgrade

Insurance company Root, founded in 2015, raised upwards of $500 million before going public in October 2020, when it received another $724.4 million in funds raised in its IPO. Despite this, one key digital asset was missing from its setup, Root.com.

Up until this week, Root has operated on JoinRoot.com, but it has now completed the acquisition of Root.com for an undisclosed, but likely significant, fee.
