I searched out all the threads and there isn't an officially designated .xyz thread so how about this one to cover the subject?

So to start off my first xyz reg is:

Sh stands for Shanghai

May have little value if any but I like short domains as possible that I can get in new extensions and with majority of numbers taken I figured why not for the low reg fee right now. Plus it sorry of rhymes.

Agree @phaethon, there is for sure a bubble but then you pay 0.88$ at SAV to register a name and depending on your target with that name it may and may not be a good investment. I fully agree that very very few (if maybe zero) typos and random two words will sell retail. Strong 2 words are selling already to some degree so I see the point there.

Back to typos and less strong 2 words I still believe there is a case for the small timer to earn some bucks to buy and sell these in the hype we are in. I built my portfolio that way since November and know others doing the same.

Is this long-term? No
Is it profitable from the perspective investment vs. retail sales? No
Will all names be worth renewing in a year? No
Is it profitable if the hype continues to flip some of these names? Yes
Will it be profitable to invest 0.88$ in a selectively picked random .XYZ (I know, that phrase is a mouthful to pronounce ) today if you aim to sell it in the next year retail or wholesale? I would say, yes.

All a matter of perspective in the end I guess . And then again I am highly committed to XYZ atm so my thoughts are maybe a bit bias .

I think guys should chill and stop registering literally anything.. DNGear sells dictionary words, I dont think brandable/ typos xyzs have any future, it's money down the drain.. I think the registry must be super excited with all this madness..

Why? How long did it take for all the dictionary words in .com to be taken? 5 years? Will you tell them stop reg .com after 1990?

Premium but regular renew price
Still for registration very very very good premium names with regular renew price but also the frequency of registration / day is , can't say high but each day 3 or 4 are reg. as i say here few days ago , i made a list premium .xyz with what i think deserve to be reg. meaning something & from that list already reg 8,9 one of them was ifm . xyz ( yesterday ) & of course by a chinese investor

Unfortunately i am out of money ( i have 5 LLL premium ) can't have more money to reg. premium XYZ but IMO worth to pay one time 1000 , 700 or 350 ( registration ) & after renew with 9.99$ & keep it until right buyer buy the name
