Bitly seems to provide redirect services for the Goo.gle domain. That's something Google has chosen to do so. My surprise is that Google uses a third party for such a redirect service, while it could easily do this itself.

The Bitly IP addresses mentioned earlier are hosted on the Google Cloud Platform, though:
