We are experiencing inflation globally. While many blame it on war, it's purely due to the greed of corporations. But that aside, the cost of living is going up.

As domainers shouldn't we be moving up our prices as well?

Personally, I try to increase my prices yearly. BrandBucket does this now as well.

Let me know your thoughts and if you plan on increasing your prices.

Inflation was there long before the war, but now it has accelerated faster.

Will you be decreasing it if inflation goes down ?
I just don't worry about things like this when setting prices.

I voted no because I already increased prices last year

I start with domains priced fairly, so I typically don't ever have to go below what I priced them. Domains tend to get a little extra value as they age and more TLDs are registered. What would cause me to adjust the prices (downward) if let's say I had a bunch of crypto domains, and all of a sudden, crypto started dying because it got replaced with something else. So clearly, there will be little to no demand in the future and in that case, I would decrease the prices or drop the name all together.

BrandBucket already doing 3% increase per year. I think it's a good idea

Will you miss sales because you increased the pricing? Do you make more sales when you decrease the pricing? It all depends on your portfolio, acquisition price and eagerness to sell.

I don't think inflation is the most important factor to take into account when you set your sales prices.

Good question though.

You would be lucky if your names are sold.
Forget about inflation.

I decreased my prices. Inflation doesn't mean increase in prices of everything.

Not really.

I think just blanket raising prices is a poor plan.

I generally evaluate each domain at renewal time and some prices go up, some down and the majority stay the same. But I can say that at the lower end the entry prices increased to are around 1k.

You increase your domain price by adding yearly inflation percentage plus retirement fees, 401 k, medicare expenses... eventually they will drop on their own.

Domain price already doubled if we look into 2019-2020 sales record.
Now any domains are getting sold not less than 4 fig.
Price are getting increased before the war began...
