Why are there so many available extensions such as business.jobs? Is it the high renewal fee or is extension just not desirable?

Never hear from either one again. That was back when the 4L .biz buyout happened.

There are conditions that have to be met to register a .JOBS domain name. The market shifted (the rise of ccTLDs) in terms of registrations. The size of the TLD is only around 13K domain names.
