For eg; moon birds is a big nft project which owns the .com but redirects it to .xyz

It is not that surprising. It is one random sale.

I have sold LLL.us for more than I could buy a low level LLL.com for, but it doesn't mean every random LLL is worth something.

Every LLL.com could sell for $15K - $20K reseller, on bad day. That is a big difference.
Random LLL have very limited resale value in XYZ, US, or really almost any secondary extension.
