Bill did notice that the theft looked to be more recent. "But if you look at the whois archive it was stolen on 12/7/2020.' There's a pattern of incompetence occurring in relation to Network Solutions and Web.com.

They did give France.com to someone else without even the courtesy of telling the owner after all. The horrendous stories about this company keep stacking up.

"But if you look at the whois archive it was stolen on 12/7/2020.'

The latest Archive.org entry from 07 DEC 20 shows the developed website of Cosmic Patterns Software.

However, a WHOIS History Update Date from a 07 DEC 20 DomainIQ Historical WHOIS entry might indicate somebody accessed/updated Patterns.com on: 2020-11-15T03:13:22Z

WHOIS Entry from: 14 NOV 20
Registrar URL: http://networksolutions.com
Updated Date: 2019-06-07T20:59:27Z
Creation Date: 1995-11-02T05:00:00Z
Registry Expiry Date: 2024-11-01T04:00:00Z

WHOIS Entry from: 07 DEC 20
Registrar URL: http://www.bizcn.com
Updated Date: 2020-11-15T03:13:22Z
Creation Date: 1995-11-02T05:00:00Z
Registrar Registration Expiration Date: 2026**-11-01T05:00:00Z

** Also note, the expiration changes +2 years after transfer; which indicates a transfer + renewal might have been paid for.

Lastly, since the alleged theft, it appears the new registrant(s) attempted listing the domain at both @Sedo and Afternic (@Joe Styler)

Hi all,

I can confirm that Sedo is aware of this and we have already blocked the sale of the domain on our marketplace and blocked the domain from being able to use our name servers for parking.

All the best Chris

Update: It took more than a year and a UDRP filing to get the formerly stolen domain Patterns.com back. More details.
