This thread is a central location to report domain name sales of any dollar amount.

As much information as you can include about the transaction is welcome, but at a bare minimum please include the domain name(s), the sale price, and whether you were the seller.

Good luck with your sales!

Please use the Like and Thank links on a post to indicate that you like it or are thankful for it being shared.

Do not post only, "great sale" or similar as this doesn't contribute to the thread. (Don't reply for the sole purpose of complimenting.)
  • Tip: Use the Like/Thanks feature instead.

Questions are allowed, but do not post commentary. If you want to discuss or comment on a sale in this thread, quote it and then post it in the following thread instead:

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Domain name: scvr.org

Sale venue: Alter
Listing type: Buy Now
Seller: me
Sale price: $299
Purchase venue: Dynadot
Purchase price: $9
Hold Time: 3 months
Details: Saw it dropped on ExpiredDomains earlier this year. Then I just started using the awesome site and exploring the potential of dot orgs. Not sure why I bought the name, maybe because of vr. And I wouldn’t even touch 4-letter orgs if not for a dude on Namepros, who often commentes those will be hot soon :) It’s the last domain I thought would sell, didn’t plan on renewing it, that’s why the price was the lowest Alter allowed. But looks like some biker club needed its abbreviation name, and so there it went. It’s my second sale ever, but it was completed before the first one did (metabiomes com, check out earlier in the thread). The two deals basically paid off the bunch of crappy names I registered in the beginning, and also boosted hope in the whole domaining thing. Thanks Namepros for the community!

Afternic BIN, hold time 11.5 months. Hand reg.

Probably bought in the last moment, so it does not expire (would have ended at DC probably) . I have just decreased price before expiry to $1988 and it sold.

(good buyer thinking, this was going to be a renew)

Another one just came in. Afternic BIN, hold time 5 months. Edit: (correction) bought for $20 at GD closeouts.

Although technically a stretch (word + lly) as I expected it did hold value for buyers.

Afternic BIN, hold time 10 months. Drop reg.

This domain is not part of my main investment, but again from a test tier.

Expiry was approaching soon-ish so I dropped it from 4-fig to a more approachable mid 3-fig and it sold shortly.

Forgot to also mention. This domain could have been sold for more if held longer. But I'm looking to reduce my portfolio size so I took the cash now.

Yet another end of life / clearance sale. Afternic BIN, hold time 11 months.

This domain is member of a pack of carbon - related handregs which I took mostly for curiosity / discovery tier.

While some of the names can definitely be sold for more if held for longer, I've decided to clear the pack and take the cash today as I can get better ones instead.
