Please can I ask for help. Today I bought a domain via SAV auction which clearly had the appearance of beginning with "I", but when the domain arrived it was "L", so instead of spelling Investor.xyz it was Lnvestor.xyz. As can be seen from the screen below it 100% appears as if it is a I, not L. I have written to SAV but so far they are denying any help.
Does anyone know what options I may have for help?
Thks

This is old time foolery but a totally legitimate sale, likely no recourse. For next time check the domain to make sure it is what you think it is by highlighting it, not manually typing it out, and copying into a url bar, whois search and spellchecker.

Point of interest perhaps, your exact domain is mentioned by someone as an example:

Sav will not refund you for this, the only way to get your money back would be to file a dispute with your bank.

Did you already pay?
Not sure what your recourse here would be. Did you contact SAV support?

contact sav support for what? noticing what? whose fault is it that investor begins with i and that i looks like l? and l looks like capital I...gods fault? inventor of English? sav or.registrars have nothing to do with it. u just need to open yer eyes and be careful. assume yer mistake and move on.

Someone registered/caught on Jan14?
Sold it 10 days later 180x roi
They wait 3 months and then make 10x ROI
XYZ is hot 100 day old xyz sells twice for massive ROI. Believe now?

" It stands to reason that someone will not be following through with payment for Lnvestor.xyz as it is certainly not worth $2,210 or $10 for that matter."

hmm wasn't the last one an expired auction? is there a way on sav to tell if owner running auction or if expired name just from listing?

Thanks for the response. Yes it seems they are noticing! Bob Hawkes has also been so incredibly helpful, very humbling. With SAV you have to pre- pay so they take the money immediately. Really unfair. I will not accept the situation, and it is not fair that I try and sell to someone else.

I can't check now. I believe it was a customer sale. Probably the person caught previously?

it's not unfair. u have right to sell and people have obligation to open eyes b4 they bid 100..or 2000.

this isn't some scam fake domain that doesnt exist that u should worry to.sell it.

Thank you for the link, really helpful. It is more that the SAV system uses a font which makes it impossible to see whether it is l (L) or I (i). WIsh me luck!

As Alcy mentioned, the Sav system also does not capitalize the first character, nor any character for that matter, in the domain names in their auctions.

soo... clue #1?

That's a neat hustle for the seller.

I would bet it's not really by accident.

If you hover the name it shows you the cap letters. One must be very careful before placing a bid.

Hi, maybe check the law where sav or the seller is based to see if a 'cooling off' period might be applicable?

Not a lawyer, just the first thing that came to my head

Lnvestor.com was sold at Namejet on 8 April this month as well for USD7,250.

Have you tried contacting Sav.com customer service?

They need to display uppercase version of the domain right on the page. Current mouse over effect doesn’t work. Not many buyers will check it.

They had similar auction with L and I before and so many complained about it and they put a temporary fix. It’s what you see right now. It’s clear that new fix doesn’t work..

It is a lack of due diligence purchase, supported by greed to get a higher value name at a lower price. One should understand that if it is a case of too good to be true, then something fishy.
Now, SAV.com will not return your money. If you used credit card, you file a dispute with your credit card issuer that your card was used UNAUTHORIZED.
In all sense, it is not a straightforward business, an element of cheating and deception was there in the Auction of this particular name.
Sav.com should also reconsider their decision as an exceptional case (the Seller has cheated the Buyer). But they will say that one's ignorance cannot be an excuse.

This is my point of view.
