As someone who manages Adwords campaigns for clients, I have some very reliable information on actual bid costs ... unfortunately, I'm not at liberty to share the details (professional ethics and all that )...

I can say that I have a client who pays a fraction of what you list for a couple of those keywords...

When you see lists like that keep in mind that they are the maximum bids on the search network.

Adsense is the display network - keyword bids do not apply to the display network because advertisers bid on a themed group of keywords, not individual terms - there's no way to determine that an adsense click was tied to one particular keyword. Bids are usually lower on the display network and advertisers can also do CPM (cost per thousand impressions) bidding.

Aside from that, there is a correlation between bid cost ranges on search and display for certain categories (some higher, some lower), but don't take those lists as gospel truth of what advertisers are actually paying on your Adsense site.

Especially in those very high-profile categories, assume that advertisers are doing conversion tracking - if your site's conversion rate is lower than average, they will pay less for clicks from your site.

There are a lot of other categories with search bids in those ranges that you would never guess! Think of very ordinary services with low overhead, high competition and high prices.
