discuss XR domains - Umbrella term for AR VR MR (all reality technologies)

XR can be X Reality or Extended Reality.

Either way it describes the spectrum just like mixed reality.

Been looking around and shopping for a while now, saw many companies choosing to rebrand to xr or just starting with xr in their names..

Those are only some of my findings that are already developed (there are many more undeveloped by major companies like unity/sony etc..)

If I understand right, this kind of BS happens all the time. Apple should be better at keeping their plans under wraps or they risk losing the names of their products to copy cats.

It is Apple, read the quote retweet from the same guy. The location of that shell company is literally same as all others Apple has used earlier for macos etc.

It would be really nice if they used XR as a marketing term, but I think that cook is a AR man, given the way they've been using AR consistently in the past.

Interestingly, their upcoming headset appears to be more mixed reality than augmented. But because they stuck with AR as. Marketing term even during the "AR Kit" App Days, they will likely stick with AR.

There are two other terms in expecting them to use that aren't talked about much here. Do your own research and you'll know what I'm talking about.

Got a $500 offer for WebXR dot de and declined it.



Got the offer from a platform for publishing and playing WebXR and WebVR games. They use a .COM for their current platform. It's quite long and not very attractive imo though.

.DE is the ccTLD for Germany. Although not a .COM the .DE extension is quite popular, with lots of aftermarket sales and big ticket sales are not uncommon.

They recently set up a GmbH company in Germany and now are looking for a domainname for the German market. In their own words WebXR dot DE would be a perfect fit and would like to know what my price is.

I was thinking somewhere in the mid $xxxx range.
Really would like to hear your expert opinions. Just about right?, more, less?

What would you think a good starting price and target price would be for this particular domain.

Please let me know, any feedback would be very much appreciated

Spatial will get a spot as well.
