Considering full time rving for at least a year. Still in the planning / dreaming stages but getting closer. I wouldn't miss the northwest winter.
Ya, I don't miss the winters up north either. Lived in Anchorage, Ak. 2 1/2 years, Chicago area 2 years, Kansas, Missouri, etc.. a few years, here and there in my younger years. They can keep the blizzards, icy roads, and snow shoveling up there.
Beautiful up there in the summer months though.
How is your family handling life in an RV? Major pitfalls? Traveling or boon docking?
It's a transition. It's my wife's (
@Amanda ) first time being in an RV for an extended period of time. Slowly but surely we're all adjusting.
Our toddler is loving all the different parks, beaches, playgrounds, woods, deer, cows, fish, and all the other things he's been able to see in both our maiden voyages so far.
So far we've done a little urban camping and taking advantage of RV parks monthly discounts. This gives us more time to see the area in our toad/towed (mid-sized sedan we pull on the dolly behind us). We're trying to take things a little slower so we can enjoy the smaller things in life too on this new journey.
We're down for repairs still right now juggling a few things as we start making more plans. We do intend to travel a lot more once repairs are done and a few other things get wrapped up we are waiting on.
Eventually, boondocking will be in our future, but that will have to wait until we upgrade with solar panels and possibly a portable wind turbine to hook to our ladder for charging in windy areas at night or during over cast days when there's no sun.
Thanks for asking.
I hope everything is well with you and yours?
Added note: Pitfalls - 1) Adjusting to a tiny space with 2 adults and a toddler - 2) Unexpected mechanical repairs.
