@DAN.COM

Hi, I see today's update to the cookies bar size being shrunk slightly. However, the unmatched cookies bar buttons haven't been solved yet.

As I mentioned several times here it's just the left and right padding of the cookies bar buttons that need to be removed in order for this to be solved on all mobile devices and browsers.

Please fix this ASAP.

Thank you!
Good afternoon @Maged Khatab,
We will pass this suggestion on to our team.

Best regards,

Do the Brokers on DAN.COM ever update you on the progress of negotiations - i.e current progress/stage, if negotiations are stalled, the buyer needs time, what is the top offer received, etc. ?

I have a few just sitting there and I'm used to Afternic where I can look in anytime and see the details, the offer amounts, notes, correspondence, etc. and it seems at DAN you can't see anything and if I never ask they'll just sit in limbo forever.

@DAN.COM

Just wondering if you have an explanation as to how the Brokerage system works at DAN?

@Dan

I'm trying to decide whether to use Dan or another service to handle an upcoming negotiation/sale. I've not had a sale through Dan to date (customers end up choosing Afternic) but the current person would prefer using Dan.

My question is: I am US based and had to jump through all the KYC hoops at Afternic so am I good for a transaction at Dan? Stated differently: Do I have to do all the KYC steps at Dan even though I am vetted through Godaddy and Afternic?

Good afternoon @Mister Funsky,
Since GoDaddy/Afternic and Dan are separate companies, we do not share this KYC information. The best thing to do is contact our team to talk about this. We're happy to see the buyer wants to use Dan!

Good evening @DomainRecap,
Usually, when you send a lead to our brokers, you'll hear back when the broker either has an offer or there's a sale in place - the important bits! You can contact our team if you have any questions.

So @DAN.COM it's the "All or Nothing" approach.

The problem with this system is that it creates an information vacuum. For example, let's outline the most common scenarios where a continuing negotiation has not been completed or cancelled:

1) The potential buyer won't go above his or her original offer and the deal is essentially dead/stalled.

2) The potential buyer makes a counter offer but it's not quite at the level of the baseline.

3) The potential buyer wants more time, but is receptive to the price, assuming other company approvals are completed.

On Afternic, I've experienced all three scenarios and I was glad to be able to see the broker notes and updates. On one Scenario 2) I saw the offer then gave the broker a lower baseline that ended up closing the deal. Regarding Scenario 3) a timely update saved me from selling the domain twice, as I had another live offer under negotiation when the broker updated with a tentative "yes".

On Dan, what happens if I set a baseline of $10K and a BIN of $13K, and the buyer offers $8K - would I get an update for that? what about $7K? $5K?

Also, if a buyer gave a tentative "probably yes, but I need more time" would that update make it to me on Dan? And what would happen if (due the total lack of information) I sold the domain elsewhere and then your broker pops in with a "big sale" on a "tentative yes" negotiation that had been sitting there without updates for a month or more? Who would be at fault?

I am asking these questions because I am not getting any updates at all, good or bad, outside of one that was cancelled due to a clear-cut case of a domain hobo with no intent to buy or pay.

Ongoing Dan broker negotiations seem to be either get cancelled or stay in indefinite limbo.

And I know the chances of me selling a domain privately that would then sell through an extended Dan mystery negotiation are low, but if this would happen to anyone, it'd be me. :xf.rolleyes:

Good morning @DomainRecap,

Not quite. The broker will follow up with leads multiple times and will provide updates when there are updates to give. This would indeed involve counter offers, leads giving a tentative yes but requiring more time, as well as leads having lower budgets than anticipated to ensure the ultimate decision always is up to you. If you are still wondering what the status is because no update was given, you can always contact [email protected] to have them review it. That said, you can count on any such ongoing negotiation to only exist out of follow-ups with no responses so far in case no update is given by the broker.

Have a nice week.

Thanks for the confirmation and I will view these "non-update negotiations" as deadbeats and carry on with my business as if they do not exist.

That's essentially what I do now, but I always wondered what level the updates would occur at, and you've cleared that up for me,

How long has the "+ 21% VAT" notice been on the "Make Offer" area for generic non-EU DAN buyers?

I just noticed it yesterday while I was testing out some new listing and as I'm not in the EU, I was very surprised to see this displayed on all my domain listings.

It's interesting as I forward everything to Dan, but recently my Dan offers have totally dried up and everyone is using GoDaddy or Afternic for offers and purchases. It just might be a massive coincidence and the "+ 21% VAT" notice might have been there for years without me noticing. Or it might not.

Good morning @ArielT,
Thank you for your suggestion. Our design caters well to screens of all sizes but in this case, some space is taken by the translation option. Accepting or declining translation should help you see more options.

Hi,

Yes, I noticed that because I know about the 3 options but I was making the suggestion because most visitors won't be accepting or declining the translator to see if there is more info below. Most visitors only want to see if the domain is for sale and what are the options to acquire it

I think is important to see the fundamental information without scrolling or closing a box

Thank you

Is there any chance to have BTCPAY server as a payment option in the future like namecheap ?

Thanks

Good morning @hriradaba,
We use BitPay and we don't have plans to expand beyond that at the moment.

@DAN.COM For those who use the automated GoDaddy appraisals to set some of their BINs, would it be an idea, if technically possible, to indicate on the landing page that the price corresponds to GoDaddy's estimated value? This way potential buyers are more likely to find the price fair.

You could put that info in the sellers notes field of the domain.

Yes, I thought about that, but then it will be on all my landing pages, including the ones where I set my own BIN.

Edit: I was thinking about the Seller Bio. Yes, I could do it individually for each domain in the notes.

Good morning @Embrand,
We don't have plans for this but it's something to consider. Thank you for the suggestion.

Hello
I have say this one page earlier, however i have another suggestion.
Why not implement Expiration date to be shown for each domain, in this way we know which domain to not renew and sell cheaper, because to WHOIS each domain is a pain.
Thank you.

@DAN.COM Is there a way to set an alert, for a certain domain when the "Buy Now" price is reduced by the owner?
Thanks

How is it possible for some sellers not to have the "Listed by" and seller icon on their landing pages?

I think this is if you list the name through AFTERNIC and select the Dan lander instead of listing at DAN directly.
