I am pretty new at this and wondering if the .info names have any value before I jump in? Thanks.

No, there is no value. Please stay away from them (there is already too much competition)! :)

Thank you both...
Duke, competitors make you work harder, no? :)

depends on the name, but stick to .com .net and .org

IMHO, .INFO can quite often be much more relevant as an extension compared to .ORG or .US, for example. Of course, .COM still rules, but I am quite indifferent between .NET and .INFO

Well , I've sold 2 infos privately..
One to a man called Helmut and the other one was called Karl..

i.e. the germans love them, believe its up there with .com (behind .de) over there.
So thjats where you should market the names....

The extension works superbly with place names, services and german words..

Thank you all for your replies. I have two names which I will post in the appraisal section, hopefully they are worth more than reg fee. :)

4u, the two you sold, did you get good value for them?

Oh yes...

Most of the best .infos have already dropped. They were mostly scooped up at ref fee.
Some of the better ones would have been secured by pool ($60 min).

Have sold a few below $100 , most in the $100-250 range and 2 above $xxxx .

Have a look on Duke's excellent resource site, DNJournal.
He was far too modest to mention it but its in his link...
You can see a history of how .info sales have become quite lucrative.
Of course , on a volume basis, the turnover is hugely less than .coms but it is growing.

I've given up looking at the .info drops due to time management but I imagine there a fair few decent long-term buys out there.

In the last 60 days, I've sold:

supportdesk.info $600
relo.info $325
freewill.info $300
urological.info $100
30-40 3-letter infos @ $35 to $120 each.

I've also had offers of $500 for RocknRoll.info, but will hold this one a while longer.

It's easier to obtain and sell a good .info than a crappy .com, even if the prices aren't as high. Last September, I had maybe 5 .infos. I now have about 800, most of which I ask and get high 2 to low 3 figure prices for. I've warmed up to infos.

I want to remind that when the .info ext just went to the market,
people said that it would not have any value.
Well, I sold till now 3letter .infos for resellers at $30- $120
and to a private end user at $1k and I got some offers for some of my .infos for $100- $300 so,,,,
.info is live and kicking!!!!
