Your constructive criticism is welcome.

WebForging is written for Company Owners, Sales & Marketing Managers, and for IT people who've been given responsibility for the Company web presence. This chapter on Other Content explores a wide range of content possibilites for your web presence. The WebForging site is being re-designed, and will incorporate a vBulletin forum.

Chapter 18 Other Content

We've covered the kind of content virtually every business site should have, no matter what size the company. In this chapter we'll give you more items to consider for your site content. Use our lists as a frame of reference; you'll want to think about the reference materials, resources and utilities that are idiosyncratic to your business and industry. If you have other suggestions for content, or any other ideas or questions to ponder, please send them along to share them with us via [email protected] or submit them at the site. Visit the WebForging website for planned regular updates to the content of this book, or subscribe to our WebForging email newsletter.

Assembly, Installation and Maintenance Instructions

One of my favorite TV commercials aired during the Christmas season a few years ago. Dad was trying to put together his little girl's new bike so she could find it under the tree the next morning. He was stumped, and neither him nor his wife could find the assembly directions. Unknown to Mom and Dad, their little girl was taking in the scene from behind the balusters leading to her loft bedroom. She promptly scurried to her computer in her room, looked up the company website, drilled down to the assembly instructions for her new bike, printed them and then surreptitiously 'floated' the directions down to be found by Mom and handed to Dad...all in 30 seconds.

Enable your customers to service themselves, anytime and virtually anywhere. Indeed, here's another excellent example of the "post - don't publish" rule. If your site becomes the primary repository of all the latest information, you - and everyone else - know exactly where to find all of the latest information.

Agreed! But you are giving them all away for free? I know you're about to sell your book on your website, but posting each and every chapter here may mean a lot less profit?
Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining, I think you're mighty generous. :)

Best of luck!
