According to ntldstats.com, Godaddy.com has become the first domain name registration to have registered more than 500,000 domain names.

Godaddy has 500,091 new gTLD domain names under registration, 100,000 more than the second closest domain registrar, Network Solution which topped the 400,000 domain mark although around 377K of the 400,000 Network Solutions domain names were given to customers for for free.

So what that is telling me is GoDaddy are still doing their great marketing job for these new gTLD's and the rest of the pack are non-existent. How many of those 380k of free domains NetSol gave away will get renewed? My guess, is less than 20% after 1 year and another 15% after 2 years, leaving them with almost nothing to show for these free registrations. If you minus those, Netsol is an also-ran.
