ICANN Insists Verisign Suspend SiteFinder

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
...ICANN has today insisted that VeriSign suspend the SiteFinder service, and restore the .com and .net top-level domains to the way they were operated prior to 15 September 2003. If VeriSign does not comply with this demand by 6:00 PM PDT on 4 October 2003, ICANN will be forced to take the steps necessary to enforce VeriSign's contractual obligations....

ICANN is waking up late, but it's better than never.

A lot of people will sleep better when/if they were to yank .com/.net namespace management from these folks

Considering how clueless they are, they may indeed decide not to comply. But then knowing how greedy they are, there are good chances they may make some noise and then comply.

Either way, it's going to be win-win situation. :)
