Companies That Believe in the Future of New gTLDs

New gTLDs are still a divisive subject. There are those investors that believe in them, and those that don't. One investor has produced a list of companies that own their own new gTLDs, and whilst the majority of these extensions aren't known to the public, some companies have opted to make the switch to their own new gTLD.

One of the best examples of this is Canon's move from canon.com to global.canon, citing exclusivity and reliability as two reasons for making the switch from a .COM.

Airbnb Just Acquired a Pinyin Domain

The staff at DN.com, China's largest domain name escrow company, noticed this week that Airbnb had acquired a new pinyin domain name for use within China. The domain is aibiying.com, the name resolves to a Chinese version of Airbnb, with the word "demo" listed in the website's title.

According to @Kassey Lee, "aibiying.com" could mean 爱必应, which translates as "always respond with love".
