This post will delve into the Sedo weekly sales report that was released on October 6, 2015. We will take a deeper look into certain themes and trends that many invest in on NamePros.
The top sale for the week was PassITon.com at $64,000.
There were 5 new gtld sales, entrepreneur.beer $2,500, trusted.company 1,800 EUR, astro.club $1,500 USD, dig.life $999, isy.club $800.
In country code sales, J.de sold for 22,000 EUR. There was a .ae sighting as bookings.ae sold for 10,000 EUR. .AE is the country code for United Arab Emirates. Sandwiched in between these two sales was Personal.eu for 14,500 EUR.
3 letter .com
There were two LLL.com sales this week, pdz.com sold for 37,010 EUR and ezz.com sold $30,500. Both names were purchased by Chinese registrants.
4 letter .com
It was another big week for 4L.com, 100 sales in total, 39 under $1,000. The top sale was an actual word Hips.com at $25,000. There was another week of triple repeating letter names.7 sales took place with this pattern, hbbb.com was the highest sale at $4,900.
Here is the full list:
Numerics
It was light going this week for numerics, only 3 sales and the top one was a .am extension.
3 Character .com
I always find 3 character .coms to be the box of chocolates of the short domain world, you never know what you are going to get. Random combos that have no universal or common meaning to a large percentage of people sometimes sell for 5 figures and sometimes for a few hundred dollars. There are certain patterns that tend to do better, some prefer NLL or LNN the best. I like NLL.com the best personally with NNL.com second.
Here is the list for this week:
Brandables
The brandables tend to be of three categories: two-word names like SuperSeats.com, made-up pronounceables (M.U.P.S.) like Oboco or Google, and modified keyword names by adding a suffix or prefix like Cloudaco or by adding an extra letter like Fiverr.
The two word domains dominated this week, LinkTop.com took the top spot at $16,000. Regged since 2000 and was purchased by a Chinese company called Linktop Technology. Surprised they didn't go for Link.Top since .top is popular in China.
Best Buys
I thought TVNY.com was a good buy at $1,000, I have focused on TV related 4L names for a long time, NYTV.com would be better and would cost a lot more.
SecureSteps.com was a decent buy for under $1,000, I could see usage in a few different industries from security to construction.
The Chinese premium 4L.com under $1,000 seem to be a good buy.
