The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
To give a little perspective on the home page sales rate, I made 15 sales last month and 2 were on the front page during the last 6 months.

We are about to put the stamp-of-approval on a new homepage design and search ui that will shine the light on a larger variety of names on the homepage. With the new payment system in place, this redesign is our top developmental priority.

Good going! When will the revamped search ui launch and what more specifically is it going to accomplish?

Had a sale today, G/L/A/M/A/T/I.

I know the BB team well enough that I am confident in the new site redesign that they are working on.

I also believe that brandables, including quality hand regs, will prove to be profitable in the long term.

I also sold a name today, Citrolo dot Com. It's my 9th sale this year with BB and I have 111 listings remaining. Citrolo was listed since June 2013. I bought it from another NP'er for $50 earlier that year.

Any particular reason you've stopped growing your BB portfolio Andrew?

I've been a little distracted by the whole CHiP phenomona. Some of my funds have gone towards those types of purchases. It's a similar point, but I also think that my portfolio wasn't diversified very much and as a consequence I missed out some opportunities in the CHiP market. I do plan on growing my BB portfolio and think it's a great opportunity, but would like to keep diversified as well.

Does anyone have experience submitting names in bulk (100+)?

Do you feel like they accept less % of your domains when you submit in big quantity?

Can you share your acceptance rate when doing it compared to when you're submitting in small quantities?

It is going to give the site a bit of a face lift, and better guide potential customers to find the name they want. Ultimately, the point is to increase sales.

I have just received an email from them with 22 names being selected out of 46. They are all four letter names, now here is the question, what happened to the credit system? I was about to click bomb their site for vote credits ;)

It's been gone for a long time...unless you already have some credits banked, it will cost you $10/name.

Oh! that's bad. I actually voted many names and later read at the bottom, that it's a waste of time. I am going to wait until they put it back in place. i can wait few years, no problem :)

I just logged into my BrandBucket account to deal with some recent approvals, come to find one of my domains has disabled features, and the above ribbon attached to it. I haven't received an email yet. I'll post more details once the sale is finalized.

I had that happen recently too. I hope your experience going forward is better than mine was.

I don't think it is ever coming back.

I personally never list my best names with BB or BR. Make sure you be in control of your own premiums, you want to know exactly who's inquiring on them and deal with these end-users yourself. I see you have OnlineCareer.com with BB. I would NEVER list a domain of that caliber on any of the brandable marketplaces unless they cut me a deal on the commission and keep me updated on all offers and inquiries.

and that is where the two biggest questions arise...

How many of these sold domains would have sold on their own?

How much money has been left on the table by having BB set your prices?

Worst case scenario, anyone with moderate BB portfolios should pull them out for 4 - 6 months, take some good analytics, and field their own inquiries by just leaving your eMail address on the landing page.

Keep in mind that BB is using your domain as a sales page as well... so if someone thinks your name is a great domain and then they see another promoted domain available for a lower amount - that one gets sold, instead of yours.

It will probably be a marquee name held by an inside rep for BB, im sorry... I meant 'Brand Ambassador'

Every time I read this thread I cringe a little. People struggling to sell 2% - 5% of a portfolio, meanwhile you get representatives of BB posting a list of sales.

You should always keep your money in-house as much as you can, which is why many people have their own sales websites.

Which by the way, cost less to have than most BB commissions that are paid out by the selling of your domain.

Investing in marketing is the key, be it money, time or social networking. Perhaps some people are best in finding domains, and are willing to outsource the marketing part to established marketplaces, even for 30% commission.

Uh oh, you saying that reminds me of the time a decimal point was misplaced in a penny stock that I owned. I went the entire weekend thinking I was a millionaire. When the market opened the following Monday, the bug was fixed, and my time of being a millionaire was over. fingers crossed the sale goes through...

What was your experience?

At this point, in the interest of maintaining a positive forum experience, I am not going to share the details. And I'm giving BB the benefit of the doubt that the situation was simply the result of several random and unrelated coincidences.

I think the way they handle sales is good. When the sale happens they change the status of the domain to sold so that no other user can subsequently buy. They do not send you a sales confirmation email until after they have secured the payment, and if you work with online payments you'll know that many can be fraudulent. Once they are happy with the buyer/payment they will then send you the confirmation email. I think this is a very effective way of dealing with things, so if you see the Sold sign on your name wait until you receive the email. That's when you can celebrate.
