The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
...and not a .org or .io insight lol
An established crypto currency bought one of those? Umm no.

That’s the point. Domainers are clueless about what’s happening in the crypto space. You can’t think of things from the standpoint of .com is the best. Crypto doesn’t require websites to operate which makes less expensive extensions like .io and .org attractive. Start looking at what the majority of established tokens are using and the lightbulb will shine, lol.

I bought $85,000 worth of xvg 2 days ago without visiting their website. They could use any extension, who cares.

But you make out that .org and .io are the best, when in reality .com is still king and is selling like hot cakes! Proof is in black and white mate! Just my 2 cent 😁 #cryptoworld.com

blockchains in particular offer an unlimited use and applicastions in future.. so there will be possibilities of huge numbers of domains.. enough to cover a bunch in org/io too
imo

I’m not referring to what domains domainers are buying. I’m talking about what crypto companies are using.

I used to own viacoin.com years ago, before the crypto craze. Viacoin has a market cap of $115 million and they use .org. They could easily buy the .com but there’s no value on their end to owning it.

Im sure wanting to use the .org is their personal choice, lets face it any company can use anything! I wasn't referring to the matching .com of a particular .org that a company is using, I was just stating that .com's are flying out the door for big bucks and saying when someone posts a .org - "Finally something good!" Is a bit weak considering all these .com sales!

.com are selling because domainers are buying on the hype. If you look at what NP members are posting here as new acquisitions, Coin//Bank.org stands out above the majority. Not to mention that the buyer was smart to negotiate a direct deal which was surely much cheaper than a public auction at GoDaddy.

I have seen this same argument made with .co, some of my best sales were made to companies upgrading from .co, and .io after they executed their business plan, to their .com.

It takes time for the industry to merge. This has no bearing with trading cryptocurrency, most of those altcoins are pump and dump crap. For a coin to have any true value it has to perform a function with a set user base, not simply day trade to a bunch of tweens who dream of private jets, and exotic trips. Most people who trade will probably lose their shirt, in panic sell offs.

It is what is happening behind the scenes companies are entering the space to provide new ideas, services, and jobs, the investment will back this, as the trend is there, that is where many of the better domains should find homes. This is by no means a overnight grand slam, but guys like CryptoRate, CryptoWorld, LoveCoin etc... are already experiencing some of these gains. It is a spillover effect, goes hand in hand.

Many of these people are tech buffs, and will spend that money to buy a blog name or whatever, I had a guy last week, within the course of 30 minutes, his opening offer was $4K, he just wanted a cool tech name for a blog, .com, countered at $5K, he accepted paid, done. Looking him up young 20 something, bitcoin visionary guy for a few years. This is a spill over of new found wealth. Domainers will see some of it. So many aspects of domains will do well when the stock market is doing well, companies are spending more, technologies are emerging, we are kind of in this perfect storm, and if you have the domains you will do well.

As for Viacoin.com it is owned by an end user.

Finally something good! Most crypto currencies use .org and .io for their websites.

I'm all for .org as well but most reported sales on namebio are .com

Most people are for .org's because they are cheap, and available to hand reg on big terms. There will be some .org sales, but you better have a good name. Most will probably never sell. I sold one for $5K 2 weeks ago, the guy simply paid the ask without countering, 2 keyword .org.

Are you familiar with both extentions (.de) & (.eu). I blindly registered a few of them. Any reported sales?

.de is the strongest cctld in the world, followed by co.uk.

As for Crypto keywords in .de, I can't see any reported sales.

I unerstand theres been some real good .org crypto sales but based on the amount reported on there seems .com has more.

Go look at the 1000 plus currencies that are trading right now. Some use .com, the majority don’t.

It’s not only about selling to the currencies Keith, it’s what follows is that matters! Rates, comparisons, blogs, news etc etc.......Currencies / start ups have very low start up costs then go on to make big! Any currency can use absolutely anything to launch a coin, trying to guess what they will use is very hard! Crypto+keyword.com , keyword+coin.com & coin+keyword.com is a no brainer!

This reminds me of the pot thread and others like it. So many junk acquisitions, be it registrations or aftermarket purchases. You either get it or you don’t. Those that get it will make money...

This will take some time, but I've seen you, and others repeat this multiple times.

Not sure how long it will take, but I will return with a breakdown.

It seems like a lot are getting it looking at the .com sales!

I hope everyone makes money be it org, net, com or emoji!

Like always, I’ll stick with .com

It’s not only about selling to the currencies, that’s only a part of it! Domains selling like - CryptoBank.com for $125,000 , CryptoWorld.com $195,000 , CryptoRate.com $99,888, cryptonews.com $50,000 etc etc etc etc....... Are bit of an indication that .org and .io are not the only ones in the game! Food for thought! ✌️

Anyone could show me a list of 100 currencies using .io and I still wouldn’t buy one trying to second guess what another startup would use! Stick with .com kids! 👍🏻

Every currency at coinmarketcap has an option to click a website link. Just go down the list...

4 of the top 5 currencies use .org...7 of the top 10 use .org, 1 .io, 2 .com.

Just reg d

CryptoCalculating .KING

Suprisingly.

Got the idea after looking at yesterday's sales and calculating.com sold for $7k!

I'd had given up on crypto + keyword in King lol

Not to get off topic..There are others that rely very heavily on .org. such as most city governments and municipalities and the political groups and politicians.... Just check their websites and you will see the majority of them use .org

Guys if anybody is giving here valuable information to the community but censoring their name with // and such please have the courtesy to not refer to that name directly to avoid it getting listed by Google and thus potential buyers finding this thread.

Just happened with @Keith and @mrcurly quoting his post. And Google already crawled it less than 20 min...
