:tu: My NP$ Balance or number of Posts reveals that I'm new here.
I have a few months of experience with Domaning and I'm quite close to a "HuGE" sale on one of my domains,$750. For a domain that is about 32 days old i feel its worth it.
With promotion on Sedo's homepage or Afternic's homepage, it would definitely have done better. This made me to see Domain flipping as a strong "G-FORCE" online business, G-FORCE meaning GROUP FORCE. Assuming 10 young Domainers like me invest about $4 each to promote a domain name OR spend about $50 each a month promoting a developed website on probably facebook and flipp it for five or six figures a month after obtaining the domain. Yes!!, this works perfectly in some other businesses i have ventured into offline, but online I'm a little worried about trust.

Now My GREAT DOMAINERS, you have been flipping domains for sometime. I would like to know what you think about this idea and if you have tried it before how did it go....don't forget to hint me of what your first domain sale price was.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
There are groups of people that sometimes get together to pool their resources as in any business but you have to be trusted by them first, I would suggest getting a more well-known name for yourself so that people will be more likely to trust you.

Lets face it, I would much rather trust one of the forum moderators or someone whose opinion I have come to know and respect than someone who appeared with one or two posts yesterday lol

It can be done, but you have to build up the trust :)

Reputation

You are very correct about Reputation...but for new domainers like me who would read this thread, have it at the back of your mind that an evil person can be very patient to build one....

It takes years to build a reputation where people might trust you and seconds to rip it apart...what is the point of doing so on a $40 domain? (using your own figures)

Yes, it is true that people get greedy but people also have the ability to draw up contracts and choose their best representative...No offense, but I would choose someone I know over anyone I don't any day of the week, even if I have known you for 3 years I would still choose someone I have known longer and has a higher standing in my mind. It is the way it works in all cooperative societies, there must always be a leader either by consent or murder.

I am reasonably well known in the appraisals section, and even there people will choose the longer standing people and the same goes for the legal eagle groups, and the ppc groups I am betting...and these buyers groups take people from all areas so you will really have to be exceptional to be trusted with domainers childrens inheritances.

How is anyone supposed to build up the trust sufficiently to rip someone off on a domain without first showing they can be trusted?

Just be comforted in the fact that we were all new here at one time, except for Microguy, He hath always been here; yea, even before the transistor came unto you. :p

@sparhawke I wasn't referring to you when I made a little warning about the bad guys in my last reply....its just that your last reply looks defensive like i was referring to you.....I really appreciate your contribution and hope to learn more from people like you.
Thanks
