discuss 3D .com domains - Worth the investment?

I think 3D domains are still very popular and worth investing in as this new industry grows. Looking at sales over the last two years, they are constant. The prices range from XXX-XXXXX, which is pretty good because I bet most were registered less than 5 years ago. In fact, the whole I got into domaining was because of 3D printers and exposure to this new technology.

Any thoughts about this?

Haha sorry, sometimes I like to post it because people tend to not click. The reason I started with 3d domains(and what got me into domaining last year) is that I feel 3d printers will eventually be part of every household. A common item to build and fix things with. Their still on the pricey side and it takes a bit of time to build something. But imagine if you could scan and fix anything in your house that's broken and fix it by re-printing the item. It reminds me of CD-Burners and when they first came out. It was expensive, slow, but people loved the idea. Now every computer has one, except 3d printing will be more useful than a cd burner. You can't stream items like you can data or music, lol

I agree , Those who had the chance to register good names will get a lot of $$$ for their names.

you never know one day Chinese might get interest in buying 3d domains with 888 and without 0 and 4.

All the original 3d followers and domain owners still follow 3d tech, its just died very slowly, apart from 3d printers...all other aspects if 3d are not in the news much...i still have google alerts set up and believe me...not many articles compared to a few years ago

This thread wont survive with 3d like it is..you are better off trying to revive the old thread, it has all the crucial info and sales

Unfortunately, threads die due to lack of interest

Anyway, good luck

Kind of surprised in the lack of interest, given the sales figures I posted above. Only 26 of the 100 sold on that list have anything to do with print or printer.

3D will be revived with VR / 360. It won't be as big as VR or 360 in my opinion, but there will be some rejuvenation for sure.

Just my opinion.

Yeah I know., but there were more sales in 2011 to 2014, not a lot of sales in 2015 if you consider thats when 3D Printing really got a lot of exposure

As for other 3D-related technology, it seems to have died a bit and AR, VR and Holo are more in the news

These are the only 3D names I have left after letting some drop and selling some others to domainers

And how am I pulling what off? Not sure what your angle is dude but I can certainly see someone who is just looking for an excuse to be a jerk tonite !

I see u have hyphens in your Sig domains so what's your deal with attacking me on one domain ?

U r wasting your time trying to intimidate ME mate ! Go find another mark to mess with!!

Blah blah blah!

This is going to be my last response ever to you on the forum. I generally tend to avoid rude and ill-mannered people.

If you are in this business seriously, you should know that dashes should be used very carefully.

Yes, if your 3D portfolio was actually 3-D+word, it is not any surprise that you had to drop it.
Even 3D-Word would have been better.
3DTouch is good name but already has its communication problems. Is it 3 or Three? Then you add dash and confusion is it after D or before.

Good luck to you.

Who are u?

Man alive I post a domain, get some smart a%$ comment about a hyphen then u come back saying this stuff on hyphens and rudeness which is beyond me where u get that??

I'm trying to picture who ur and your motives behind posting comments on such trivial matters regarding hyphens of all things and where they are best used in a domain.

Its sure entertaining to say the least to read such tripe that individual like u rave on about over nothing!

I've even posted in the past that you have some great domains then you just proceed to say I suppose all your other 3d domains had hyphens too?

Why would you say that? To simply goad anyone on so you can show your expansive knowledge on hyphens?! Very weird behavior for sure. Are you playing with a full deck?? Awfully sensitive too !

Too funny mate as you are one strange bird!

But since you won't reply as you stated I will miss hearing your in depth diatribe on the structure of domains and their placement for optimum impact.

PS 3-D is how the term is used if a hyphen is utilized . look it up!
BTW if 3D-Touch was available would you reg it ??

Mine is just as good off better period so what anyhow ??

How's rude is that???a hyphen faux pas! LOLOLOL

you make me laugh too pathetic..

yes it is...I still getting offers for Cloud3dprinter.net(though 7 months old)...I sold L3d.net at $141 very low price...Still v3d.net and cloud3dprinter.net available with me...I think 3d trend will be there until and unless 4d market starts(still few years to go)...
but in domaining world you never know what offer u gonna get..sometimes u get good offer for average domain name and low for above average domain name...

Just joined NamePros and as a newbie because I am wanting to sell a few 3D related domain names I have. Any opinions on these.
3Dmeddevices.com
3Dmedicaltools.com
3Dmusicparts.com
3Ddollhouse.com

Thinking of listing these on Sedo

Amusing point about 3D printing/print domains not making much headway lately. Maybe because the industry/concept stalled (Makerbot itself sold to Stratasys then sank not very long after).

But maybe they are the isolated case, as noted from this recent Fortune article here (showing, effectively, that there's hope yet!). Also maybe because loads upon loads of 3DPrinter manufacturers (especially from China) seem to have been flooding the market.

Hopefully it's just a matter of time while the cost/resolution factors still are getting towards that sweet spot that the masses will finally adopt it in droves. Either way, I've been holding on to a few 3D and print related names:
