In the adword tool

999 photos 10 global exact seaches, 1,600 broad
Nine Pics 16 global exact searches, 14,000 borad

Broad match: The sum of the search volumes for the keyword idea, related grammatical forms, synonyms and related words

So I'd say $0, I don't know a reason for someone buy that name

999Photos.com has the same value as 333Photos, 444Photos, 555Photos ect...

I can't see any value here: $0

Same goes with NinePics.com.

Is there some hidden meaning with the number 9 and photos that your focusing on?

Well, great feedbacks as always! Thanks! :cy:

And here are some reasons why I think 'nine' is an interesting number:
- The number 9 is believed to have auspicious meaning because it sounds similar to words that have positive meanings (in Chinese).
- Some Chinese today believe that nine is lucky (or believed by others to be lucky) because it is the largest single-digit number.

Interesting...is there any reason of placing 3 numbers? example 999? or just for that looks well?

Maybe I register a name with 999 preffix :)

'999' term is indeed very brandable... :snaphappy:

And when I checked the sales history, I found more about 'Nine'-names instead of '999'...

For branding, I think the common usages are placing numbers between 1 to 3 digits. :imho:

Thanks for the input! :cy:

999photos.com - 999 is not as bad as random NNN, but still $0

NinePics.com - "pics" is a common short word for "pictures" if people here don't know, just like "mics" for "microphones". However "nice" is a garbage word. Thus I would say the value of it is from high $xx to mid $xxx. Too bad it is not NiceTits.com (which is far more often used word combination) :)

It's 'NINE'! not 'NICE'! :hehe:

You missed my point again..

You mentioned that 999 is lucky chinese number.
What i was trying to articulate is with "photos" and "pics" in the name (instead of their chinese equivalents) they would not attract chinese buyers because of this chinese/english mix..

Then you posting english sites with "999".. what kind of logic is this..

If you wanted to illustrate the fact there are some domains with 999 - sure there are many... just as there are some with 111, 222, 555, 123 etc..
there are also a lot of domains with words "pics" and "photos" - are you sure it helps you too?
how about the number of domains with letters "p, h, o, t"?! - so many end-users, right?!

how the existence of 999design(s).com or "Ducatti/Ford 999" is adding value to "999whatever.com" i personally dont see.. but of course you know better..

What I'm trying to say is...

'999' is indeed considered as one of lucky Chinese numbers.
But '999' is also one of the most popular 3 digit numbers for mixed with english words (even though is still less popular than '123').

attachment.php

And definitely, '999' is the largest in 3 digit number.
So '999' would be great for branding with the positioning of:
- 'being maximum',
- 'being many',
- etc...
- or just simply because '999' is easy to remember.

For examples:
- '999 society' is a high IQ society, as measured by IQ score.
- '999' was the first man-made vehicle to exceed 100 mph under its own propulsion.
- '999motorsports.com' is a race car manufacturer in Thailand.
- '999motorsportsUsa.com' is a race car manufacturer in USA.
- etc...

Ahh... thanks for your nice opinion, Dompro. :cy:

But somehow, I tend to believe more in some historical data.
Because I think it's more accurate, and definitely more objective! :imho:

So here are some sales data with the similar characteristic to 'NinePics.com':
- NineIt.com | $2,250 | 2012-04 | via AfternicDLS
- NineFive.com | $5,000 | 2012-04 via Sedo
- NineBar.com | $122 | 2012-03 | via Namejet
- NineBlog.com | $3,400 | 2011-02 | via Sedo
- NinetyDegrees.com | $2,000 | 2011-01 | via Sedo
- NineInchNails.com | $3,900 | 2008-07 | via SnapNames
- NineLuck.com | $2,000 | 2008-06 | via AfternicDLS
- NineGame.com | $500 | 2008-05 | via Sedo
- NinePlanets.com | $8,600 | 2005-10 | via SnapNames
- NinePin.com | $400 | 2003-06 | via Afternic

And by the way, when someone giving an appraisal, I think it would be much better if the appraiser also explain the reason behind it.
Not just the subjective instant result. :hehe:

Cheers! :snaphappy:
