Different countries have different rules. I believe Indian domains can be sold to non-Indians. There were less than 100 Bhutan domains last time I looked because they are only available to companies within that country ..... so it depends on the country.

Domain names with the extension .Asia at the end will be available soon, and limited to residents and companies in Asia and Australia.

There may be a few top sales initially to increase the hype. But it will take a really long time to see consistent sales in this extension.

well i think the might have real value only if they are easy and straight names like india, pakistan, sex, money, cash etc.........
but the real value can only be judged only after a year or so after they are launched..

sex and porn are both taken and other premium generic names will go into an auction.

I think it's gonna take atleast a few years for the investors to catch up with Asia before they start investing in it.

Good .asia domains do have a resell value. I believe the .asia registration fees will drop very quickly after a couple of month.

They can be sold to almost anyone since .asia only requires one contact person to be in Asia-Pacific.

Also remember that the majority of the big players are not officially eligible to buy .asia so this will reduce the value significantly.

Also remember that most premium names will be auctioned so unlike mobi I think few reg fee names will be flipped for a solid profit
