Been thinking about my domaining future.

As a general jack of all trades domainer, my past acquisitions have been all over the place.

If a domain sounds good and catchy, I am game for the taking.

But with the eventual price increases, I have decided to focus on ONLY ONE category of domains.

In this not to distant future, I suggest all good and willing hot blooded domainers do the same for your survival.

Pick ONE category of domains that you want to focus on. Specialize instead of generalize.

PROFIT!

In my noob'ish exp in this large world wide web! :tightlyclosedeyes: I learned that ppl start out as jacks of all trades... and there's some money there, but the real "bacon payday" comes from specialization.

iz tru for domaining... and I recently tried getting into flipping real world items, and it's true there too! You start out generally buying random, sellable items... then the "experts" are the ones who research deep into specialized items and sell them for super high markups.

so i think, in general, specialization brings in more money.

but when it comes to stocks, crypto, and assets... you have to diversify. Domaining is a hybrid of assets and used wares. So I dunno wat to say except to both specialize (do deep research and get good in one or two industries) then also not put all your eggs in one category of domains.

oh btw the same is tru for writing. Specialists in a field make more, yes... but when trying to maximize your clientele, you have to write about more than one topic in order to sell more articles (diversifying your portfolio).

My 2 cents:

- yes, pick a niche you are really good at to see value better than the most and pick some hidden gems.

AND (not OR)

- no, don't limit yourself just to that and do build a decent sized portfolio. It is already hard to find investment grade names at reasonable prices, so limiting it further to niches doesn't make sense (except, again, the point above).
