I have ipods.net and no one has bothered me. Legally I think you can't but I doubt you will have a problem.

If you talk about how cool iPods are and that the reader should immediately go buy one from Mac I don't see any problems with the domain or pictures :$

If you're talking about one of those "free widget" sites, one of them currently owns ipodmini.com. Based on the fact that they haven't been sued out of existence (yet), I'd say it would probably be safe to at least try it out for a while.

Some companies, though, don't like you having their company (and/or product) name in ANY part of your domain. In my experience, though, Apple is not one of them (excluding the itunes.co.uk case).
