discuss .movie extension

Looks as though this is taking off with the movie industry. Another member here pointed out BOO.movie and here's some recent news on Lions Gate Entertainment registering many too.

Seems a bit pricey for me, $289.99 per year.. I'm not sure this one works well for the average domainer and maybe just the movie industry and independent films etc..

I recently dropped "Chinese.Film". The renew fee is like $120 or so- not remember exactly. If I hold it for 3 years, the cost would be $360. But is there any company loves to acquire? Chinese film companies are pretty rich, that's why they recognize ".com", ".cn" much more than these new extension gTLDs. I also dont think other investors, individual or company, dont have enough motivation to hold these domains- these are based on some of my pre;iminary researches

I think we better be more cautious when we invest these types of names. It looks nice, but who knows if end users like them. Doing some analysis and research is necessary- even sometimes your vision and projection are more important. But investing domain names is not gambling. We should be careful.
