Popularity of "hub" domains

I think "hub" is a good anchor keyword for brands. However, a lot of "hub" domains are already registered - at least the ones that make sense.

I have a couple in my port.

Your thoughts? Do you have any?

Thinking about a coolest hub domain made me check - coolesthub.com is still available for handreg.
I have no idea what sort of business would it be for so that's probably the reason. But isn't it the coolest hub name? :)

I have ModellHub .com (ModelHub .com SOLD for 6,500 USD in 2011)

Whether you’re modelling or modeling, you’re doing the same thing. The only difference is in the spelling—the one with the single L is preferred in the United States, while the one with two Ls is preferred everywhere else, it’s one of those “United States vs. The Rest of the English-Speaking World” things.

There are plenty of small, interesting (or sometimes annoying) ways the two major variants of the English language—British English and American English—are different. The double L we see in modelling is one of them. This is the preferred spelling in all English-speaking countries apart from the United States.

Modell works in Scandinavian languages but the -ing doesn't.

Modellhub can work for the swedish market but slim chance of selling. Much less of getting a reasonable payment for it. I wouldn't even try to sell it as a catwalk modelling type of name. I think it would fit better as a model (model airplane, tank, prototype) kind of domain with the name hub if it was going to have a chance at selling in Scandinavia. They were popular here until not so long ago. Might make a comeback. Great shop name. I hope you prove me wrong and sell it to a human modelling company.

American words are 100% working for practically all of the eurozone, especially countries that have a great command of english like the scandinavian countries (we don't dub the TV programs that are in English, which is most programs and series today).

I would say that the American English spelling is also the standard because of... IT. Color as opposed to colour, flavor as opposed to flavour etc.

Stick to american spelling for the best result imho.

I recently sold HatHub.com and it was one of my better sales. I’ve sold several other hub domains over the years.
The hub domain I still have with the most potential in my opinion is SlotHub.com.
Other hub domains in the portfolio I think have a decent chance to sell over time include: CrapsHub.com, CupcakeHub.com, DollHub.com, KosherHub.com, LobsterHub.com, PurseHub.com, ReadingHub.com, RibHib.com, SaladHub.com, SmoothieHub.com, SteakHub.com, TacoHub.com, TanHub.com,TanningHub.com, and YogurtHub.com.
In a nut shell I think hub is a solid ending for Brandable domain names. I believe it’s just as good if not better than world, land, city, zone, town, and ville because it’s shorter and super easy to spell.
