Question about MySQL

Hi I wanted to learn database stuff and am going to use Coldfusion and mySQL. I was wondering where I should go to learn this. I have asked a few people and they said there are only a few things I need to know for mySQL but I am not sure what all I need to know. I do not want to have to read the Learn mySQL in 21 days if I do not need to know all of it. Thank you in advance.

what i do is when i wanna do something i search on google/mysql manual
