Tabula Rogeriana

The Nuzhat al-mushtāq fī ikhtirāq al-āfāq (Arabic: نزهة المشتاق في اختراق الآفاق‎, lit. "The Excursion of One Who is Eager to Traverse the Regions of the World"), commonly known in the West as the Tabula Rogeriana (lit. "The Map of Roger" in Latin), is a description of the world and world map created by the Arab geographer Muhammad al-Idrisi in 1154. Al-Idrisi worked on the commentaries and illustrations of the map for fifteen years at the court of the Norman King Roger II of Sicily, who commissioned the work around 1138. The map was utilised by various explorers such as Christopher Columbus and Vasco Da Gama for their voyages in America and India.

Kids today don't understand - we had to frequent libraries to educate ourselves.

Dad gave me an inch-thick book that contained pages and pages of photographs and maps of the moon when I was a kid - but they were all upside down. ;(

EDIT: I think it was a NASA atlas of the moon, probably published mid 1970's.

Online meant it was stolen so nothing was online it was books and only books. Otherwise they were scans from books.

LOL I remember. I'll explain that.

Back in the late 90's i was working on a 3D/ VRML model of Mars, so I contacted JPL. They kindly sent me three ultra-high resolution projection images of Mars. Each image was a 200mb black and white image, so I had to convert each to it's own colour channel and combine them in Photoshop 2? which took many hours of processing to get a colour image.

The site is still indexed on WayBackMachine but they did not archive the Solar System page unfortunately.

Everything works in browsers these days and if you wanted something to work you had to add plug ins eg: new extensions need them prior to icann releasing them and Meta streaming plugin used to see vr maps created.

How to fight covid?
Break 1.5 meter rule into striking distance then wash hands thoroughly. I hated people getting in my face best of times stand back you smelly bastard hehe. Even if vaccine failed probably make money with snake oil. I am not caling this snake oil but just people will invest a lot into life preservation. Making fun but at 67cents a lot will invest.

The Great Oxidation Event (GOE), sometimes also called the Great Oxygenation Event, Oxygen Catastrophe, Oxygen Crisis, Oxygen Holocaust, or Oxygen Revolution, was a time period when the Earth's atmosphere and the shallow ocean first experienced a rise in oxygen, approximately 2.4 - 2.0 Ga (billion years ago) during the Paleoproterozoic era. Geological, isotopic, and chemical evidence suggest that biologically produced molecular oxygen (dioxygen, O2) started to accumulate in Earth's atmosphere and changed it from a weakly reducing atmosphere to an oxidizing atmosphere, causing many existing species on Earth to die out. The cyanobacteria producing the oxygen caused the event which enabled the subsequent development of multicellular forms.
