Thats correct I use Stripe as a merchant service. Just reaching out to my peers to get opinions. Not trying to "cryptic"
got it. thanks. I was seriously thinking it was paypal.
I guess its a bit cryptic unintentionally on your end, as it'd be hard for anyone to guess if you are using stripe.. or just paypal merchant services. but anywya.. enough on cryptology.. let's talk facts..
here is what you should do imo:
if you must use your "merchant" then tgransfer nothing before money is deposited to you.
in fact, I'd even wait min few days after deposit.. to minimize your chance of problems. it won't be a guarantee if you do that, and yoru buyer doesn't look like someone who can wait long anyway.. but if I had no choice for payment like this and had to use a merchant, I'd definitely do all I can to buy me a few extra days. it's what I always do for bigger paypal payments too. when I have no other choice but to take them.
then as I said before, and others said, the ideal, depending on amount, is to cancel all of it.. refund buyer.. and initiate something like epik.com escrow.which is my prefered escrow method.
where buyer pays to epik escrow.. they hold funds.. then you transfer your domain to epik registrar.. they push it to buyer.. lock it against trnasfer for 60 days in case of problems with payment.. and then they pay you his funds. 0% escrow fee if u use the funds on epik buys... else its 5% total to withdraw to your paypal (that's 5% total.. so 4% regular paypal fee you get on any incoming payment to paypal and then just 1% overhead).. by far the cheapest escrow on the surface of the planet.
p.s. I am not epik affiliated. just a real happy client of their escrow.
hope this helps you. or any.
