download adaware and spybot sd. install, update both of them.. then scan your system.

If you think you know who it is just report him to the authorities!
Or encrypt your mail :]

I have used both adaware and spybot (both updated) but still they have failed to removed my BFAST spyware. Any idea how to get rid of them?

ya. is spybot or adaware telling you something like "unable to remove..." something somehting?

No, they did not even detect BFast. :( But there was a message, something like they detected a hole of some sort. Whatever!

ok first things first:

1) Update windows and office at Microsoft.com
2) go to add/remove programs and kill stuff you dont want
3) go to c>program files kill what you dont want
4) update Norton and scan
5) set up spybot to only load on start up the programs you need to run your pc and other options you want running.

rescan with spybot and adaware. nothing should be left alive.

if however there is, download and run "HiJack This". and for everything it finds, do a google on it and see if you should or should not manually delete it.

That's pretty impressive help you provided that! I am on my way to try that out! *watch your feedback rating* ;)

Also can see what's loading when you startup your computer and maybe find some bad stuff to turn off:

Start > Run> type "msconfig" (no quotes), click OK
Go to the "Startup" tab and there you can disable things that are starting up with your computer.

if norton doesn't cath it when you get it, then usually norton wont catch it at all. Use spybot, restart, use sypot again, if theres a lot of stuff again, restart and use it again. That should get rid of it. Just keep restarting until nothing shows up

Argh, I did everything and even successfully used Hijackthis (found A LOT of crap), but the awful bfast still lingers whenever I try to get on Ebay. It keeps telling me that the merchant is no longer involved in this program (of highjacking my browser and sending information, I assume). Instead of going to Ebay.com when it keeps trying to go to http://service.bfast.com/clients/notify/exmerchant-1.html and the error message shows up as "This merchant is no longer participating in the affiliate program."

Repeated use of spybot just keeps turning up a "PSO" or "ISO" loop or hole or something, and I just remove it all the time.

Off to google to search for another remedy!

www.webroot.com

Try downloading Spy Sweeper from this website (it's the company's website) and updating the definitions once you first start it up, then running it. It's a great program, better than S&D.

careful of spysweeper. It likes to tag friendly computer essential programs as spyware. delete with caution.
