I live in Switzerland and I have noticed that companies and banks are slowly moving to .com variant of their site.
Official languages in Switzerland are: German, French, Italian and Romantsch.
So often I see now .com instead of .ch in url, they just use .ch for email addresses. But slowy .ch is going out for email too, because they now register the .swiss domain for [email protected] etc.
My prediction in 5 years max, they will start to use just .com as official and .swiss for email address. It all goes in that direction.
