Trustable?

When buying a new domain name, how can oyu tell if the seller is trustable? Or for that matter, how can you tell if the buyer is trustworthy? Is there any website or service that tells you the history of sellers/buyers? Any advice I hope? Thanks. Confused

Has anybody ever been scammed in some sort of way, that may have tips to help me and others avoid falling victim to the same trap? I hope not, but if so, please share. Help us all by eliminating these type of people.
