Lets see how many general layouts we can list off that are used on the internet. Its really hard to come up with something original, and i figure if we have a list of things already done then we'll avoid the cliche.
Lets try this with a layout sorta like this
Name - Example
Description
I'll start it off with the top kind of my mind.
3 Colum Portal Style Sites - http://www.deviantart.com
Sites which almost always have 3 colums. One usually with nagivational stuff, another with polls, advertising/sponsers, and polls, and a third colum with text, news, and other random content.
Pages hosted by Geocities, Homestead, Other FreeHost - http://www.geocities.com/poetess47/ & http://www.fanfictiongrit.homestead.com/
These sites can often be found being edited by people who claim to know html, and own these websites for the sole purpose of telling people they have a website, and getting people to sign their guestbook. All of these websites share a common look because they all use basecolors, almost always is the text centered thoughout the whole page, and the graphics are almost always clipart, or something put together in MSPaint. These websites have their roots in the early age of the internet and soon turned into the mullet of the internet; Ugly, a disgrace to the term Webmaster, and everyone has had one at one point in time.
