I think you should check the last pages of this thread to have a real and honest look at what .tv domains are selling after March 18
http://www.namepros.com/dot-tv/423232-report-tv-sales-here.html
Btw, as you probably know, there are only 4 LL.tv actually available and if you have money I really suggest you to buy one of them.
You can't do a quick ROI but in a couple of year I can bet you'll be very happy with your investment

I had one offer for $7k 3 weeks ago which I happily declined, so I guess ll.tv's are worth $5k and more no matter reseller or endsuer.

You're so full of it Jeff it's not even funny. Did you notice MTS.TV sold for $33,500 to an end-user about 3 weeks ago? That's a LLL.TV for you. If you find the right end user LL.TV's can sell for a lot more than LLL.TV's.

How often do we see an LLL.tv for that though? It is a once in a few years event, maybe even once a decade.

$10k - $20k premium letters.

LL.com's have sold well under 100k in the last couple of years for low quality combo's, some under 50k if I remember rightly (not sure if they are still at that level, I'm guessing they are), so why would people pay $10k-$20k for LL.tv's?

Even in.tv went for 16k and that is probably one of the best ones so to say they start at 10k even for premium letters is poppycock in my view. Some of those have sold for 3 figures in the last couple of years according to namebio.com with high quality combo's looking to start around the 2k mark.

What will be value of LL.tv domain?

ccTLD (for the teeny isle of Tuvalu) ".TV's" ... are worth approx. 0.75% - 1.25% of the corresponding .COM's (including LL's), IMHO. :yell:

Good Luck,
Jeff B-)
PS. Thanks to #1 Staff© for cleaning up the thread. :gl:

I think Snoop is spot on. I did some further research and discovered that my original opinion was based on just a couple of sales (probably the highest ones), which don't give the true picture. :red:

I think that's a fair and reasonable assessment, IMHO ... and to BD's revised point of "value depends on what the enduser will pay"; it would be interesting (and extremely informative for both the O.P. and those viewing the discussion) to know, if any, which End users have acquired which specific LL ".TV's" (and, obviously, for how much?) in the recent past - and even more importantly, what is the current development status and promotional plans of those LL domains/websites? :gl:
This should assist with providing a more clear picture of status & valuation, IMHO.

Kind regards,
Jeff B-)

Nice research John! I believe xo.tv sold for around $2500 in April 2010 as well :)

It appears that ic.tv is a reserved name so not sure what that sales report is all about?

John,
The top 4 sales you have listed are from 2009 or earlier, not 2010.

Best,
A

Keith,
IC.tv was purchased and then dropped. That would be the reasoning as why the registry took it back.

Best,
A

You can still register FR.tv for $7766.25 at NAME.com

Thanks for the update!

It seems shady to me though when the registry starts reserving names that have already been sold on the open market.

^ That FR.TV and several other LL .TV's are all still available for registration (and without the oppressive annual 'Premium' Reg. fees) ... probably says as much as you need to know about the current state of valuation(s) for these types of ccTLD domains, IMHO.
Bottom line is that these are clearly OVERpriced in the current market ... and, historically, I know of no bonafide End user(s) that have purchased or acquired these types of LL .TV's -and- then gone on to build/develop and promote unqiue and compelling video-centric websites! :red: :imho:

PS. Excellent compilation above, thanks kindly to johname; Rep. +/+.
See you soon,
Jeff B-)

Only 4 available and not for less than 6K.

Only 4 available and not for less than 6K.

That's the point ... that even those (not End users) who are most optimistic regarding the ".TV" are still not purchasing these usually disireable and rare LL (due to limited supply) domains here in the ".TV"; one would think that if they truly believed that they'd be worth over $100k in the future that they'd quickly purchase them now for up to Mid $X,xxx - and this just isn't happening, IMHO. :guilty:
Personally, I think there are a lot of questions surrounding the expiration of the Tuvalu ccTLD arrangement with Verisign ... which is having an effect across the board with all ".TV's", including those that most would normally define as generally "good" such as LL's and even LLL's (most random LLL .TV's are approx. Reg. fee's+ (or available to register at Reg. fee)), IMHO. :gl:

Just my two sense,
Jeff B-)

There are a great many developed LL.tv's that have been developed. After all .TV is one of the few development led (rather than speculator led) extensions.

Of the top of my head I can think of a few that have been created:

fa.tv - ps.tv - gb.tv - nl.tv - hg.tv - dp.tv - rt.tv - tu.tv - fb.tv - mu.tv

and two I know that are of great interest to a view posters here:

kj.tv - rl.tv

One of the examples RT.tv was sold last year for $64,000 I believe.

Jimbo I think if you start to list all the developed .tv domain we'll need another forum.
Last one I saw today on another forum was www.swarovski.tv..

Based on the sales posted above, and the reg fee in the four figure range for the remaining LL it could be said LL.tv = regfee :o

After all .TV is one of the few development led (rather than speculator led) extensions.

Since its inception well over 10+/+ years ago ... the ccTLD ".TV" has been purely a domainer / speculator extension; other than the brief and ultimately failed ".MOBI", no other extension has been as consistently hyped at the domainer / reseller level! :guilty: :imho:

"FA.TV" is a simple URL redirect to the TheFA.COM, "HG.TV" is another obvious redirect to HGTV.com, "FB.TV" isn't even developed, and some of the other ones mentioned have either obscure landing pages and/or only minimal actual compelling video-type development(s) IMHO.

Both LL "RT.TV" and previously referenced LLL "MTS.TV" were acquired separately out of Moscow, Russia I believe ... also, as mentioned, these types of sales are extremely rare - with domains such as FR.TV and others still sitting at Mid $X,xxx with no takers I think is a better example of current LL ".TV" valuations. :gl: :imho:

All the best,
Jeff B-)

Not a bad assessment.

And most LL.tv were price at $450 but they are ALL gone!
