I searched out all the threads and there isn't an officially designated .xyz thread so how about this one to cover the subject?

So to start off my first xyz reg is:

SH3.xyz
:xf.grin:

Sh stands for Shanghai

May have little value if any but I like short domains as possible that I can get in new extensions and with majority of numbers taken I figured why not for the low reg fee right now. Plus it sorry of rhymes.

.XYZ is hot. Just put a one worder in escrow for $1500 that cost 1.88.

Inquiries are up.

Impossible! I have learned that this is a worthless extension, here at Namepros.

Seriously, I'm just trying to add some irony. Best of luck with these names! I personally think 883 might be a XXXXX-figure name soon.
Hey,Yes you are right, we normally do not get good price here at NP for .xyz domains, what platform you prefer or parking with For Sell Ad will work?

CNET.xyz is owned by CBS Interactive Inc. and forwards to their CNET.com domain.

I hope they make the switch soon.

It is worth noting that CBS Interactive did not register any of the following domains:

CNET.net
CNET.top
CNET.club

Both .com and .xyz belongs to them.

CBS has a $23bil market cap and you are comparing their CNET.com to this Premise site, which btw still loads on premise.com also.
They are forwarding their xyz "with masking" to their .com I would imagine, not the other way around.

Large corporations with an established presence have very little to gain and alot to lose by switching their .com to a xyz or anything else for that matter.

It's true that large corporations risk a lot by switching to .XYZ at this moment in time and that is why most of them haven't done it yet. But .XYZ isn't the complete joke you make it out to be.

CBS purchased CNET.xyz, but did not bother purchasing more traditional extensions like CNET.net, CNET.org or CNET.biz.

CBS also failed to register domains like CNET.top and CNET.club. They purchased XYZ just in case and I believe it was a good decision. They are not the only one either.

.

CBS may not have wanted to pay the asking price for the .net etc? CBS didnt even acquire CNET until 2008, cnet.net has been regged since 1998

As for the top and club I have no idea, I guess yes you are right they saw more value in the .xyz sure

edit: this is all just a guess from all of us of course, but you cant ignore the fact that the .net org etc were not available at the time CNET was sold to CBS.

Big corporations are most likely purchasing these so their names don't end up becoming a porn site with a .xyz extension.

So much spam and other black areas are associated with this extension.

Trust me....

They are not purchasing .xyz for branding purposes.

It's more of protective purposes

My opinion of course.

Just snagged downloading /.xyz

Not my best .xyz, but feel like it's a decent one.
