Valuate.com & Flipping.co = Estibot?

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
This is the first time we have created a thread, so with any luck it will be done correctly.

We are former users of Estibot, having started using them in very early 2008, and just ceased using them in recent weeks. We have since been using Valuate on rare occasion, though they are essentially the same as Estibot (or so it would seem) and we were wondering if the two are either related or the very same entity.

Our real purpose of this thread is to see if anyone has used Flipping .co for their .CO name sales? If so, have you noticed they are the same as Valuate?

We decided to try and list a couple of our .CO names and in doing so, we couldn't help but notice the format looked exactly the same as the Valuate .com format when logging in or creating a new account. We figured as a goof we would try our Valuate login info and sure enough, it logged us into flipping .co.

One obviously owns the other, or perhaps Esti owns them all. Any ideas from anyone? Also, has anyone had success thus far with .CO sales and if so, where was the sale?

As it happens, only one of our three .CO names appraised high enough for flipping/valuate to accept it for auction, but we have yet to actually list it. Either our names are junk, or perhaps it's just too soon for .CO name listings.

At any rate, any opinions or general info you may have would be appreciated. Please keep all posts professional and tactful.

Thanking you in advance for your time.

-Regards

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Valuate and Flipping.co are properties of Domaining.com. THey are all run by the same people.

The Estibot and Valuate engines are identical as far as I can tell but to my knowledge are independently owned. Perhaps somebody licensed their software to both.

Thank you both for taking the time to respond. It just concerns us that even though we had never even been to flipping prior to that moment, how it already had an account set up for us using our login credentials from another site, regardless of them being affiliates or co-owned. Something valuate should forewarn people about prior. It seems like a privacy issue of shared info on so many levels.

Nonetheless, probably a silly reason to create a thread, but we weren't sure as to where we should inquire with this info. So again, thank you.

Any ideas as to how we close this thread now?

Hi, here's a conclusive answer to the OP's question:

Flipping.co, domaining.com and valuate.com are all under the same ownership and you can use them all with the same domaining.com account.

Estibot.com is independently owned. We do not share account data OR appraisal or user search data with anyone because we are fanatical about privacy. The above mentioned sites use Estibot technology in the back end by a licensing agreement. Data goes only one way, from estibot to the other sites, via API. Estibot.com does not share account data with any of the above services, and the domaining.com network of sites does not share account data with Estibot.

To summarize:
1. Estibot.com does not share account data, account usage history or any other individualized data with anyone.
2. Domaining.com, flipping.co, valuate.com and bargaindomains.com are all part of the same network (of which Estibot.com is NOT a part), and whatever data they share with anyone can only be answered by Francois the owner, who, as far as I know, runs a very transparent business and I'm sure would be happy to answer any of your questions in detail.

Having thus officially separated us from the domaining.com network of sites, I emphasize that we are very happy to collaborate closely with Francois of domaining.com with whom we continue to work together to build better services for domainers.

I hope that answers the questions presented here
Thanks

Hi all,

I think Esa explained with great details who own what and that all we take care of privacy.

All our domain related sites use the same members database and as explained in the sign up pages you must use your existing domaining.com account and not create a new one.

Yes there were many sales for .CO but all under $1,000 for the moment.
In a side note it looks there is a paus this last week on .CO sales.
Annyway it wil certainly take months to really start to be active, nobody like to pay big price for something that was available for 25 a pair of weeks ago!

In Flipping.CO .CO is appraised at 4% of the .COM and we only accept domains valuating over $250
Currently there are not eough sales to have a serious appraisals of the .CO so this 4% is really a rate I set according my experience and also to try to energize a litlle this vertical aftermarket. A lot say it worths 1% at best and his future is uncertaint. We will see, today nobody can really say and there are probably half that say it worths more (the owners) and the other half that say the inverse (the others). This has been discussed in Elliot and Mike Berkans blogs these past weeks.

Cheers,

Francois

PS: Thanks Tia for the note about this post.
