These auctions are sold to other domainers at a giveaway price. No end users here. Someone needs to set up an invitation only auction in Las Vegas for end users and not us squatters.
If you know the client then check how much they are worth and sales earnings. Then price the domain accordingly. Or check the domain in the Godaddy appraisal tool and multiply that price by 10x. You can then negotiate a sale price from that...
Since Dan staff is present and this is about marketplace, what gives with this? Bought a domain on Dan for fraction price of what was listed on Afternic. How about explain the reason for cancelled transaction with more detail??

I don't think any of us renew our domains at Godaddy. End users buy the domain and continue to renew at Godaddy, probably host there also. They are becoming the Google of domains.
Godaddy shares are up big time after the Dan buyout. It was a smart move by Godaddy forcing us all to change to their name servers for a lower 15% commission on their domain sales network. I am guessing revenue will keep going up.
I saw it for sale on Afternic but thought I would buy it on Dan. It was a lower price on Dan. The payment was made. I suppose since Godaddy owns Dan then they will give a warning to the seller. Seller has match the price at both venues.
Dan cancelled my domain name purchase and now the domain is listed for sale at a higher price. I didn't know that a seller could do this and relist at a higher price.
