Xyz seems to be the home of splash pages containing multi coloured shapes or promises of Blockchain stuff that nobody cares about.Companies That Upgraded Their Domain Names to .Com -

Far from a complete list, but interesting still.
The same story plays out over and over. You find success, you upgrade to .COM.
The few stories about going to .XYZ like Alphabet (Google) and Block (Square) are more like corporate sites.
I mean has anyone actually visited ABC.xyz or Block.xyz? It is not like either company is giving up on their primary domains with the the traffic in Google.com and Square.com.

Are you silly that think all .xyz websites are shown in there?4 websites in Spain. It's on over there.
Fair enough, but if we listed all the .COM websites this forum would likely crash. I doubt it could handle a post with tens of millions of websites listed. Are you silly that think all .xyz websites are shown in there?
Ones with content that people want as well. A domain extension can't thrive on registrations alone. Many hyped extensions have gone this way over the years, they exist but they're not investment grade. XYZ is absolutely no different as far as I can see.Fair enough, but if we listed all the .COM websites this forum would likely crash. Total 417 company names on the list, large enough for a sample size. Only one company is previously a .xyz domain. 275 companies changed from .com to .com.Companies That Upgraded Their Domain Names to .Com -

I am not intended to play this number game. My intention was to show that .xyz is being used globally.Fair enough, but if we listed all the .COM websites this forum would likely crash. I doubt it could handle a post with tens of millions of websites listed.

Whenever we post some .xyz sales, Some random new member comes and starts a thread comparing it with .com or .whatever_they_wanted_to_promote_extensions.I am not intended to play this number game. My intention was to show that .xyz is being used globally.
We aren’t talking about huge monster corps who can acquire a com if they so chose. We are talking about everyone else.Companies That Upgraded Their Domain Names to .Com -

Well, that is your opinion but reality says something different.A dot com in 2022 is not actually inherently better than the same word in another extension. Its what you make of it.
Yes that is why we call Topic in a Forum and not Comic, because we are serious guys. But a "Rolex" (or other "status symbols") is rather top than ".com" (if at all as at the end of the day, only top is top) and .xyz knows this as well.
Welcome to the new worldAlso xyz looks unprofessional. That's it's biggest down side imho.
People say that it's looks generic, I don't think so, I think it looks like a kids' extension.

The international markets (including Spain) are using .xyz domains.
Check yourself: https://gen.xyz/live
Spain and Latin America are very poorly represented as are many other countries, only 1 site in all of Central America. And most of the sites are in English. Most sites are in US, Canada, Australia, UK. What is surprising is that only 1 site in South Africa and a number of sites in China. Clearly .xyz does not have any relevant penetration into international markets.4 websites in Spain. It's on over there.
Once again, first, the website does not showcase all .xyz websites. Can you find block.xyz, spiral.xyz and many other developed .xyz domains that were reportedly sold on the website?
