In the past year, the ownership of the domain name ai.com has changed hands three times, with its latest buyer being Marques Keith Brownlee, also known as MKBHD—a surprise entry to the field of AI.

Isn't AI.com owned by Elon Musk? I do remember that it redirected to x.ai website.

I wonder who currently owns AI.com, the whois is private and the registrar is Squarespace Domains.

At one point it did redirect to Twitter / X but it's possible OpenAI bought it from Elon.

Redirecting it to a MKBHD video about ai is a bit unusual. If OpenAI does own it, it would be helpful if they redirected it to ChatGPT login for an easy way to login.

nope
Redirecting it to a MKBHD video about ai is a bit unusual.

The data/traffic stats can reveal a domain's current market value across various audiences and that's what they're doing; taste-test, fishnet/spider webs marketing.

Kind regards

ai.com hasn't changed registrars (Google/Squarespace) chances are that the owner is just redirecting to sites for potential inquiries.

Ai.com
The domain was owned by FMA (Future Media Architects) Thunayan Al-Ghanim Aka "elequa" for many years.
The domain was sold by saw/com domain brokareage.
They are the most aware of the new owner.
SAW/COM responsible for selling the domain portfolio of Future Media Architects.
After the conflicts that occurred at Future Media Architects.
All of the domains are now owned by Thunayan Khaled Al-Ghanim’s sister.
And Forsale exclusively through SAW/com
