Hi,

Can we PLEASE devote a thread to .BIZ domains?!
...
They are actually REALLY beginning to take off IMHO! :cy:

Thanks!

I think it's unfair that only certain extensions get their own discussion area. Realistically all the TLDs should. Why is there a .tv and not a .eu? Why is there a .mobi but not a .info?
It seems as though NP is playing favorites.
If there are a lot of threads that relate to a certain subject under domain discussion, a subforum is usually created. Think about the short domains forum and the .mobi names. They flooded the main discussion forum, so they were given their own forum.

I personally haven't seen an influx of .eu or .biz threads. ;)

Good to see this thread.

I also like .biz. Even sold one not so long ago for a really good price. B-)

I use .biz domains for email accounts. Sounds professional and no need for a .com

Well, I guess there are .biz fans around here. I am very choosy when it comes to buying .biz domains but so far they have treated me well. I must say though I can't remember the last time I registered a .biz. Good ones sell on the aftermarket for pretty cheap and that's where I find them. I used to prefer .info way over .biz but in the last year I have made great roi selling .biz domains to actual end users. I don't think I have ever sold a .info to anyone but a reseller for small gains.. hmmm just thinking out loud here now.. I'm curious to see some of the .biz gems that are tucked away in this community?!

I also would like to say thanks for this thread. It's nice to have a place to discuss .biz domains. However, I think this is the best we can hope for. As Steve hinted, I don't think we'll get a forum of our own. even if this thread reaches 50-100 pages.

I did register manchestercasino.biz when the city was nominated as the site for the UK first super casino.
Unfortunately our PM Gordon Brown killed off the idea and probably lost me a few quid. I still own it as a reminder not to trust politicians

I sold Cash.Biz the other week for $4500.
I could have gotten more probably, but i needed the cash for another name that was going at a giveaway price.

I may be selling some of my others as a package as i´m working on 3 development projects.
They are all to do with design:
Names.biz
Logos.biz
Branding.biz
Clipart.biz
LogoDesign.biz
Vector.biz

I can post many excellent, end-user .biz websites here in the thread and will try to do that this evening as no time this morning. First, the comment that .biz is a favorite of scammers has no factual basis at all. That is a myth and needs to stop being propagated. .BIZ hit a milestone surpassing 2 million registrations in June 2008. Business gets .biz and they are in use by almost every sector.

:tu: Here's an other couple of mid tier corporate sites spanning a wide range of industry;

www.uhde.biz (They build industrial plants)

www.amsair.biz (A private jet charter company)

www.totalpetrochemicals.biz (The worlds 5th largest petrochemical producer)

goldphoenixpcb.biz (A large printed circuit board manufacturer in China)

absholdings.biz (Electrical tranmission/ distribution company with more than 5000 employees)

www.sig.biz (A global packaging company with 4000 employees)

atl.biz (A large transport/ logistics company in Russia)

www.feiyue.biz (Electrical company in China - 14,000 employees and sales revenue in 2005 of euro 1.25 billion)

Plus a few small business oriented sites;

hicc.biz (A Chamber of Commerce in Hawaii)

nsba.biz (National Small Business Association)

www.firststatebank.biz (A bank in Illinois)

www.aprea.biz (The Asian Public Real Estate Association)

www.sdchamber.biz (The Chamber of Commerce for South Dakota)

www.kaiserfederal.biz (A bank in California)

My .biz

I own paternity.biz. Which slogan is better:

You ARE the father.
You are NOT the father.
You're what?
So what's you gonna do?
She's lying.
Don't look nothin like me.
Pay now so you don't have to pay later.
Kill me.

I was going to try to get ept.biz, and use it for early pregnancy test, but it was taken by a big corporation. EPT.biz could have also stood for Emergency Plane Ticket.

I also own refi.biz and reo.biz. Despite the .biz warm welcome in this post, this TLD has a long way to go before it even begins to become anything close to a household word.

One more thing, I picked up weaves.biz a while back for $5. Anybody want a cheap weave so I can pay the domain's high renewal fee? Less than 50 percent of the weave will be back or nose hair.

I have to stop staying up all night long.

I own a fistful of LLL.biz and they're in constant loss, paid 80/100$ each in a moment of excitement ages ago when the price was high, now nobody wants them even for 30$. Personally I don't really believe in the strenghtness of this ext. anymore, not only for 3 letters, but also for all the other flavours. This is just my opinion anyway, mostly based on the poor number o developed sites I've stumbled upon in the last few years.

LLL.biz will rebound IMO. However, I am not invested in them at all. I stick to one word or great two word combinations. They have paid very nice dividends recently.

I needed a global TLD for one category beyond .com and .net

sorry I picked .info.

More natural branding.

Too bad .pro has so many issues, I would have chosen that gtld if not for so much uncertainity and little penetation.

.biz while most appropriate for our category...hey I had to make a choice.
