Full admit: I've rarely seen or never seen so many five figure sales in one day... but I also don't understand these:

European union... it's called EU. No one calls it European union. It's also a very long domain.

That's like if someone had Unitedstatesofamerica.com.... way too long.

Kamra???
WickHill??
VampyVarnish???

I would own UnitedStatesOfAmerica.com all day, but I see your point. Often when I don't understand why a name sells for a big number there is an SEO component in play. Good SEO names are worth big bucks right now.

Like yes if Da and Pa...

I don't think any of those domains are on a 20,000 dollar level SEO... because that's basically an ex-site of a celeb level.

I know that Chingy.com didn't even go for five figs

While several of these are good domains, my educated guess is -

1.) Most have something else going on like traffic, backlinks, PR, etc.

and/or

2.) Several of these are probably part of the GoDaddy rollback bidding scheme. I noticed that 9/10 sold at GoDaddy.

GoDaddy frequently has inflated numbers that can't be trusted because so many rollbacks have happened.

There have been several $XX,XXX sales being rolled back to $XXX and in some cases even $XX range.

You can find many examples here -
