Disappointing once again that there wasn't a headset announcement at the Apple event. But when you think about Apple is too perfectionist to sell a product without a compelling use case that can change people's lives. People are still working things out with AR - what it is and it's place in society beyond being merely "cool looking" interfaces and overlays. AR has infinite potential but a mixed reality headset that's is strapped to your face with a giant rubber band just isn't Apple's style... It's not a finished product and there isn't a strong enough need.

I tried VR 3 times and I'm have zero desire to try it again. I know that I'd feel the same about a mixed reality headset. I agree with Elon Musk when he said that he doesn't envision a future with people strapping televisions to their faces.

But I do envision a future with AR Glasses and I would prefer to see Apple finish their work on that then their MR device...reports are saying that they're almost there. But there's also infrastructure development needed so I'm not holding my breath at all!

Many are saying that we'll see the mixed reality headset oush AR as a Trojan horse before the glasses. I think it's a smart strategy. Maybe we'll see it announced later this year in the fall...
