DUBLIN--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Global registry services provider Afilias today announced the first phase of the introduction of a new generic top-level domain for one of the world’s favorite card games: “dot POKER” or .POKER. The first phase is the “sunrise” period, which is limited to eligible trademark holders and is open from February 5 through March 7, 2015.
.POKER is the first and only Internet domain dedicated to the game of poker. It is the most logical thus effective web address for anything and everything that has to do with poker – from gaming to news, tips, or products.
.POKER Registration Schedule
  • Sunrise: The notice period of the .POKER sunrise period has begun. Sunrise runs from February 5 through March 7, 2015. During sunrise, domains will be awarded in a first-come, first-served manner; however, eligibility during this period is limited strictly to trademark holders whose marks are registered in the Trademark Clearinghouse.
  • Landrush: From March 10 through April 9, 2015, the public can “put a stake in the ground” and apply for the names they want. Their applications will be finalized after the landrush period ends; and names receiving more than one registration will go to an auction process.
  • Open registration for all will begin April 21, 2015.

Just another fraud gimmick. I don't take seriously anyone in domaining who doesn't understand that dotcom is king, and it will always be king. The other extensions are not really needed. Some extensions are not frauds, like .co.uk and .de, but every single new extension is not needed, and every single person involved with them, from the message board peddlers, to Dn Journal, the registrars, and everyone else, are the most dishonest people in domaining. It is ironic that this is a poker extension, because that group of people represents the lowest of the low in society. That group has the highest group of people who murder others, including their own parents, then any other group of people in any so-called legit activity in world history.

Like domainers, there are large groups of poker players who cry on forums daily about their lack of success in life. Their main goal is to find suckers so that they can pay the bills. They don't see how they look. At least the few domainers who actually make real money don't start threads about what they should tell people they do for a living..lol. In the glory days of poker, there were people making hundreds of thousands of dollars who were too ashamed to tell people how they made their money. They would start threads asking others what they should say...haha. You know it is a lowlife activity when you make a ton of money and are afraid to tell people about it. So, domainers are probably one step above poker players, but that isn't saying much, since their only goal in life is to get over on someone and make someone worse off.

1. True

2. Those days are long gone, people have a better understanding now that poker is somehow a skill game, it is broadcasted on TV and there are quite a few top players who are not hiding anything.
