The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
According to WhoIs.sc, PENDING DELETE domains will be deleted in 5 days.
PENDINGDELETE: The registry sets this status after a domain has been set in REDEMPTIONPERIOD status and the domain has not been restored by the registrar. The domain will not be included in the zone. Once in this status all registrar requests to modify or otherwise update the domain will be rejected. The domain will be purged from the registry database after being in this status for 5 calendar days.

Hey harpo,

Here's the specific details:

1. The domain, if expired & not renewed, will ideally remain
with the registrar (where the domain name is registered)
between 1 to 45 calendar days. After which, they'll issue
the command to the registry (the entity holding authoritative
records for domain names based on their respective
extensions) to delete it.
2. Once deleted from the registrar, the registry will put the
domain name on REDEMPTION PERIOD / PENDING DELETE
(Restorable - for .ORG, .INFO, .BIZ, & .US) for 30 calendar
days.
3. After 30 calendar days, if not redeemed, the registry will
then put the domain name on PENDING DELETE for 5
calendar days. Ideally, it'll be released on the 6th day at
approximately 2PM EST.

The 3rd item is based on the appropriate registry's FAQ. But
barring tech issues, it should happen as scheduled.

Note everything happens on calendar days, not business
days, fiscal days, or whatever! It won't get any more
specific than that.

Hope this helps! :talk:
