Was at the grocery store today. Walked around, filling the cart. Fire alarm goes off. Everyone keeps going about their business, including employees. I look at people, tell them "Umm, yeh, that's a fire alarm, we should probably evacuate." No one cares. Ok. So I finish filling up the cart, get into line to pay. Next moment, managers and employees running around telling everyone to leave store immediately, for safety.

Fire truck rolls up. No worries. Ran over to Walmart, finish up odds and ends there. Half hour later, return to grocer, everything back to normal. Except, cart is gone, had to fill up her up again. But no fire, and no one has a clue as to why the alarm sounded, and I got home to realize I forgot to pay for the potatoes..

On a related note, I hate driving. Cars suck. Drivers suck. But if I was in this vehicle, sucky would be not as sucky. Even the name is not sucky, an E-Tron 2000 or something, an Audi:

Your animated gif debut- not bad at all. Can't go wrong with bouncies. Can't really be improved via speed up or slow down, you would have to add more frames to make it smoother..
What are you using? I have used Gimp in the past for images/gifs, it's free too.

Okay prepare for some real technical mumbo jumbo..
Found a old image on my flash drive..opened up Microsoft Paint..cropped that image..save that version...did a "horizontal flip" and saved that image...went to http://gifmaker.me ..uploaded both images..fooled around with the speed..down loaded it and then uploaded it here....

Since there is a high demand for the newer, faster, software heavy, computer in my household...I get stuck using a older "girl" that I have in my workshop..even though I pay electricity and internet..not really complaining..I need my man cave lol

ah the "old girl", they are the best. The go-to machines. Rudimentary functions and they seem to last forever. Wish I still had my dad's first Tandy 1000..

It's all relative to the times though, connection speeds to files sizes and whatnot. So we didn't know any different then because it's all we had.

I was using (and programming) computers at work in those days, didn't hop on the personal computer bandwagon until later. Pretty amazing that the minicomputers, memory and drive capacities that were a big deal back then - even years ago my phone could blow them out of the water.
But we got stuff done!

Commodore vic 10, 1982.....
I started with 300 baud.....and in those days...mid 80's,,,,,only bulletin boards....tons of them in houston area and then throughout Texas....interesting art came out on the boards.....even had entire magazines/newspapers devoted to the bbs and how to access them, how to become members, etal.
All strictly through the phone....using the phone line for getting online,....meant no one could use the phone...and if they did pick up and start dialing....kicked you offline real damn quick....
Videotel in Houston...had a blast with this system....just prior to internet...in fact,...if all went right....you could actually use to get people around the USA in universities....

Had videotel until early 1993, when I ended up in the wilds of Texas!
Then got first computer, local ISP (almost, bought him out).
Windows DOS 1 (forget what version....)
but it had like 10 or 12 disks to load up....and boy, too many times, just experimenting...had to reload windows to get back on the computer...these were those 3.5 inch disks....sure some of you remember them.
And some how that year, I did end up with a tandy computer....piece of shit really....so played with it for a bit...then said heck with it and used it from then on as a door stop at the barn so the cows could come and go in peace.

Early 80's, before I ended up at the Post Office....I worked and managed an electronics store.
Now they had TI computers and ATARI computers, but no one bothered to learn about them etal to sell them.
I did and had a blast with them....
They were METAL cases, no plastics....
Sold a bunch of them.....
But really had a blast though with the new things called microwave ovens and the best new thing VCRs!
VCR, both machines and cameras...easy sell on one thing I found out.....
PORN!!!
Push a button and BAM!!! PORN on those huge tv's they had in those days....
Customers, male and female,,,,loved that stuff!
Even had a deal, since my store was down the street from Houston PD, their vice squad....to make copies of the porn they confiscated so all the cops could have porn....
100 bucks for a porn movie...and people paid and wanted more....
