I believe that President Biden was right when he said that Russia is going to Invade Ukraine.

Any intelligent person is going to come to the same conclusion knowing that Russia has already decided to pay any price imposed on it by the West through sanctions.

Short of full military confrontation by the West there is nothing that can make Russia to change its mind as they see this as a golden opportunity to resurrect the once powerful superpower that was equal to the USA.

But Russia’s ambitions are not going to stop with taking over Ukraine since it already has made plans to increase its sphere of influence to Asia, Middle East, and South America and perhaps the whole World knowing that the West is most likely not going to do anything beyond just imposing sanctions which ultimately will hurt the West itself by effecting the Global economy in an adverse way the longer that they go on.

I personally don’t like any of the old ideologies, philosophies, and doctrines of Capitalism, Communism, Socialism, Religious Fundamentalism and all the other “ism” that are derived from the bad human characteristics of Greed, Lust, Hate, Cruelty, Jealousy, Prejudice, and lack of Empathy and that have been infringing on our rights in one way or another throughout the history because they can only exist through supporting inequality, oppression, suppression, torture, killing, and War.

When it comes to saving the World the last thing that I want to see is the further expansion of these old systems that have all already proven to be a failure in dealing with the existential problems that are currently facing Humanity and the Environment.

We don’t want all these political, Religious, and Racial parties and groups to resurrect their past, we want something new that can propel the World into the next Era that is based on the Universal Principles and Values that have been derived through Logic and Compassion and not through Force and Violence.

By “We” I mean all the Intelligent, Righteous, and Peace loving people of the World.

Are we talking about Trump, Biden or Ukraine?

Your posting a lot of spin about Trump, who isn't President. Is deflecting the best you can do to defend Joe Biden?
We were talking about Biden and the brilliant job he has done helping build a broad coalition against Russian actions.

Trump only came up because he is busy praising Putin as a genius...oh and he came up because he was impeached for trying to extort Zelenskyy when it came to Congressionally approved aid. Both are pretty relevant.

Zelenskyy is a worldwide hero. Putin is a worldwide pariah. Trump endorsed the wrong person. Sad!

Thanks to Biden's leadership, LOLOLOL. I mean, yeah.. that Joe is one sharp negotiator. Helping Putin invade Ukraine, inflating the price of oil to $130 / barrel to help the starving people of Venezuela.

You brought Trump up to deflect from Joe Biden's failures.

BTW, Trump was analyzing Putin's motivations and plan, not his personality or brain size. As usual you can't accept the truth, you have to turn it into a diatribe and blindly repeat the latest Trump scandal.

It's embarrassing.

Zelenskyy is a worldwide hero. Putin is a worldwide pariah. Trump endorsed the wrong person. Sad!

It will be interesting to find out what Pres. Zelensky really thinks about Joe Biden.

Was that intelligence found in boxes of classified documents Trump took to Mar-A-Lago, that the National Archives later seized?

US is a net exporter of oil. We produce more than we use.

We could easily fix the problem by making US oil a national resource, and ban the exportation of it. Do you support that?

No. I support increasing production in the USA, not importing oil from Russia or VZ or Iran and exporting to Europe and any other country that needs it.

Why don't you tell us. I'm sure it happened exactly as the NY Times wrote.

Nice cherry picking.

Now that Russian tanks are rolling through our cities, I'd like to thank Pres Biden and offer a job to his Brother.

OK.

Again, US already produces more oil than we use, but we export millions of barrels a day.
There is an easy solution.

I think most people are willing to pay higher gas prices to hopefully limit the slaughter of civilians and spread of a war. If someone is not, they might just be a selfish ahole.

US House and Senate lawmakers have a deal on outline of bill to punish Russia

From CNN's Manu Raju

In a significant statement, four top lawmakers — the leaders of the House Ways and Means Committee and the Senate Finance Committee — said they would craft a bill that would suspend normal trade relations with Russia and Belarus and provide the White House with authority to increase tariffs on the two countries.
In addition, the agreement — announced by the top Republican on House Ways and Means, Kevin Brady, and the Ways and Means Chair Richard Neal, along with the top Republican on Senate Finance, Mike Crapo, and Finance Chair Ron Wyden — would do the following, according to a statement released by their offices:

  • Provide US President Joe Biden with authority to further increase tariffs on products of Russia and Belarus
  • Require the US Trade Representative to use the voice and influence of the United States to seek suspension of Russia’s participation in the World Trade Organization (WTO) and halt Belarus’ WTO accession
  • Provide the President with authority to restore normal trade relations with Russia and Belarus subject to certain conditions and congressional disapproval
Also noting that the lawmakers say in their statement: "We have agreed on a legislative path forward to ban the import of energy products from Russia and to suspend normal trade relations with both Russia and Belarus."

The idiocy I see rampant among most Russians, most Americans and Western Europe tell we are headed into World War 3. Why worry about global warming when you can expedite the end of the world, eh?

Global Warming is on the back-burner, I'd be more concerned about a Nuclear Winter atm.

Nuclear weapons were meant to be a deterrent against actions like Russia is taking, instead they are trying to use them as a deterrent against interfering with their actions.

You don't appease a tyrant. It never works.

If this type of action is allowed to happen without massive consequences the world (and humanity) is doomed, with or without nuclear weapons.

It is only a matter of time until mutual assured destruction does not work. All it takes is one mad man or nihilist with the power.

Most wars start with that sentiment - and most wars have been avoidable. Probably too late now, but remember that the US set the standard for invading countries in the modern era. Nothing about this was inevitable.

The USA was a net exporter in 2020, according to the story you linked to.

"Just last week, his administration put new restrictions on building liquefied-natural-gas terminals in the United States, which are needed to liquefy our abundant (and clean) natural gas and place it in tankers to be shipped to Europe and the rest of the world. "

There is already an economic boon here in West Texas where I live because of the increase in oil prices since a big majority of oil is produced in this region and a lot of companies have started hiring again.

I believe that most people are willing to pay a little more at the gas station if it's for a good cause, but it might be a good idea to give the less affluent people and those that are in the delivery business some kind of coupons or vouchers for gas so that it won't impact them as much.

Paying higher prices won't save anyone, especially when there is no reason for it other than Joe Biden's handlers have decided strip mining lithium, unrecyclable solar panels and burying fan blades the length of football fields is better for the environment than natural gas or oil refined in the USA.

Calling people ahole's because they resent having to walk or take public transportation to work is a pretty ahole attitude.

It's naive to think the USA can just stop importing oil because we have long term contracts and strategically need diverse supplies.

In any case, Joe Biden certainly doesn't think it's a good idea to stop importing. He's asking Putin's closet ally in south America to increase oil production for the USA.

Not to worry, the aholes will be voting and sweep the radical, anti-American, anti-reality left out of power in congress.

The US imports 209,000 barrels a day from Russia. We use 18M+ barrels a day.
That is barely 1%. Not a major deal.

A lot of the rise in oil prices recently is not based on supply and demand, it is based on fear.

And announcing expanded production in the USA would counter those fears.
