I think the net sold recent at auction for over $1,000 and is reg to Frank Schilling (I think) or his business name. This org name was dropped after 6 years according domain tools. Since I run woodpelletfuel.org with great serp's this can make a good addition. I find it boring though.

Nothing I could do, I looked at it as a lesson and I remember it every time I think about registering a domain with a trademark. In the end I just pass, there are easier ways to make money.

Bottom line: You are right. A trademark is never worth it, because Volkswagen owns that.

While they are indeed good .. the only issue you need to be aware of is that you can have "doctor" and "dr" versions of the same domain. Those 2 sound the same .. but then you can also add "md" and "doc" to the mix .. a lot of options.

Same issue comes into effect for "mister" and "mr" .. kinda sucky side of domaining .. you need to find creative alternative sometimes.

I wanted to have a blog type site to push traffic amongst my sites, and to spam my links. I decided to make a pseudo-forum to do this, and I've had trouble finding a name for that. In the end I settled on
Fit to Talk and I put smf in a sub-directory called fit-forum.
